Yep but it's trending that way...
For Bob maybe but we have no clue what the NFL HoF will do. As much as they want to avoid BB potentially coming back how do they really not make him first ballot.

Yep re: Bob/NE HoF was what I was implying.

Tom Flores was inducted in 2021. His last year of coaching in the NFL was 1994....27 years. BB will be 99 in 27 years.

Bill Walsh was done coaching in 1988 but was inducted in 1993...5 years

Chuck Noll stopped coaching in 1991 and was inducted in 1993....2 years.

Shula stopped in 95 and was inducted in 97...2 years.

In theory, BB should be up for it in the next 2-5 years.

It's the right thing to do.

He's eligible this year for NFL HoF it's a new rule change the others didn't get. I'll be pissed if he's not first ballot.

Why'd they make Walsh wait seems odd?

Speculating but unlike Shula and Noll, Walsh was still young enough to keep coaching. That might have been a consideration.

Landy also went in 2 yrs after Jerruh canned him. Everyone knew he wasn't coaching again.

With Ron Borges as the designated sole HoF voter and advocate for the Patriots, anything is possible.

Always said this. I could also see the media heads who dislike Bill to use this as their final little payback to say "yeah we are going to make you wait a hot minute and stay put like we did with TO"

Here he is, Mr. "I'm A Patriot For Life," one week after his statue unveiling in Foxboro. Some fans have no problem compartmentalizing this duplicity.

....he's....part owner of the team.

So...what is he supposed to wear, seriously?

I'll preface this by stating the obvious: I am a Patriots fan. By its very nature, fandom is based on emotion, so a lot of fan behavior and reasoning might be considered inherently illogical.

I personally attended all but one of Tom Brady's games in Foxboro through his entire career, plus many away games. Like others here I considered him "our guy," which he reinforced during last year's Patriots Hall of Fame extravaganza by explicitly declaring, "I am a Patriot for life!"

Now, if you want to invoke logic: how can he be "a Patriot for life" with vested interest in the Raiders? His loyalty and priority rooting interest are with Las Vegas, not New England. As I noted, some fans have no trouble compartmentalizing this and that's their right. On a purely visceral level as a Patriots fan, it bugs me. Tom can do whatever he wants, of course, but his "Patriot for life" declaration rings hollow from the choice he made.
