It's easy, and only takes a few moments. He was more done than Hollins is now.I'll tell you why there is push back on Hollins - I don't want to give up on promising players, rookie Chism and the second year Baker/Polk... so far Baker and Polk have been more than competitive in camp... I am in the middle of a complete 180 on Polk based on what we have seen in the last week... Baker? he's only caught more TD passes than anyone else in the league during camp... not just here, but across the league... I am paying attention to that. Everyone should be.
What Hollins brings to the table isn't enough to surpass that promise of potential.
It remains to be seen if Chism can make it to the end... he shows flashes of talent, but will most likely end up on the practice squad... if he doesn't get picked up elsewhere...
And say what you want about Bryan Cox being an older player but he wasn't done at that point... he would have been one of the leading tacklers on the 2001 team if he didn't miss a chunk of games due to a broken leg...
NAY!!!! I demand you come back and die on the hill that is mack hollins!!!!!He was more done than Hollins is now.
I've said my piece, my brother. I'm defending a guy that's at best a 4-5 WR. I like this guy's toughness, that's about it. Everyone wants to talk about the other guys' potential. Polk and Baker aren't rooks. I like Williams (in spite of yesterday's thread) and Chism more than either Polk or Baker. I recognize that Baker has shown up during camp, so good for him and good for the team if he excels. In the end, I'm rooting for whoever lines up on the 53 on opening day. I just want them to win. I feel like I've defned Hollins waaaaaaaay more than I should have to. The Pats have had WRs with potential and exactly zero have panned out since Meyers. So, let's switch it up. Let's get a guy that will lay out some punk DB so Diggs/Pop/Williams/Henderson or either of the TEs can run free.
Steve-o out.
I'll bite.He was more done than Hollins is now.

I read that he is having a great camp.I'll bite.
Why do you think that Douglas hasn't worked out?
Probably. Why wouldn’t you pick the most promising young guy for the spot that doesn’t project to see much of the field. It "seems" that you expect (absent injuries) to have a roster than includes Polk and/or Baker.
Where did this attitude of Hollins being a tough guy come from?Way back in the day, they had Bryan Cox on the 2001 roster. He was done, but a tone setter. They say his hit in the Colts regular season game changed the demeanor of the team from the hunted to the hunters. I am shocked that everyone doesn't see that in this guy. I know he's a nothing guy as far as WRs go, but so is every other fekk on the roster not named Diggs or Pop. Dude is a football player, not some outside the numbers I'm-not-going-across-the-middle-type of under producing WR with a ton of athleticism and swagger and zero production. All set on these Tyquan Thorton types. All freakin' set. N'keal freakin' Harry. Keep 'em all. Gimme football players.
If that were valuable wouldn’t he have a higher reception per snap played rate than NKeal Harry? You can't teach height, and Hollins at 6'4" is five inches taller than Williams or Boutte, four inches taller than Diggs, and 8 inches taller than Douglass.
To compete for a job, the signing Diggs, drafting Williams, and Boutte outplaying him has cost him.Why bring Hollins here and pay him all that money?
Just to cut him.
Chism I'll grant you, but the Polk/Baker traveling circus, I'm good ever seeing that ******** again. Made me pine for the days of Brandon Tate.I'll tell you why there is push back on Hollins - I don't want to give up on promising players, rookie Chism and the second year Baker/Polk... so far Baker and Polk have been more than competitive in camp... I don’t know about that. He sucked pretty bad in Vegas and Josh lost a job there.Hollins is Josh’s binkie… unfortunately we’re stuck with him.
I don’t know if fighting over WR5 options is calling them one of the more talented WR groups.I just can't help but laugh as I read this thread. It literally took just 2 weeks for the Pats to be viewed as a team with ZERO WR talent to one with more talented WRs than roster spots to keep them.
Aint perception a *****.
2024, targeted 50 times, 31 receptions so he caught 62% of his targets, with 25 catches producing first downs and 5 resulting in TDs.would rather have a guy who can catch the ball vs another short bus rider...
That's nowhere near good enough for andy.2024, targeted 50 times, 31 receptions so he caught 62% of his targets, with 25 catches producing first downs and 5 resulting in TDs.
That is 60% of his targets being either first downs or touchdowns.
If that’s a “short bus rider” (abhorrent choice of smear btw) then I hope the Pats’ WRs crowd their bus.

I think that you mean players with a potential to be #4 WR's.I haven't read that.
I am reading that we have a logjam of potentially mediocre #4 or #5 WRs.
It took him 721 snaps to get those 31 receptions which is incredibly low production. Worse than NKeal Harry’s career. One of the very worst in the league. I bet you couldn’t find another WR with 600+ snaps who produced less.2024, targeted 50 times, 31 receptions so he caught 62% of his targets, with 25 catches producing first downs and 5 resulting in TDs.

and? those aren't exactly impressing me... He was the number 3 option in buffalo last year... he put up fewer receptions and half the yards vs the number 3 option did the year before...2024, targeted 50 times, 31 receptions so he caught 62% of his targets, with 25 catches producing first downs and 5 resulting in TDs.
