That's the issue, isn't it. We need to accept it.

With good coaching, Jones is a better backup that Dobbs. (Certainly, SF folks think so). [I HOPE that Maye has Jones rookie stats for 2025]
With a better attitude, Milton might develop into a better backup than Dobbs.
We could have drafted a much better #3 in the 7th round than our #3.

But Vrabel needed to avoid distractions in the QB room.

Mac Jones isn’t an NFL quarterback. Jacksonville crowed about getting him for. 6th, only to find out when he had to play that he really and truly SUCKS.

I agree it is not a big mistake, it is not a small mistake either.

But a 2026 late round 5th is not more than a 2024 mid round 6th.

I don’t agree on the size of the “ mistake,” but you are right on the compensation, I didn’t take the 2 year disparity into account.

It doesn’t matter how good the coaching is when your arm is as weak as Mac Jones arm is. Quarterbacks get a million chances, but Mac Jones chances are running out fast.

Glad you see that now. Watch closely there is more to be revealed.

Yep. I wasn’t thinking about the fact that the trade happened after the draft, which pushed the compensation to 26’. But I don’t think it’s much of a mistake, they took a flyer on a QB, he turned into a turd in the lockerroom so they cut bait with him. Honestly I’m fine with them taking a flyer on a QB in every draft, even if it does end up costing them a round or two, because when you hit on them it all becomes worth it.

Cowboys forum on Milton... they sound kinda meh on him

Somebody's replacing Dak soon enough, because the dude's a Choke Artist and is Made of Glass.

well would you look at that... I dun fixed the cap'ns post

prescott has had a couple broken ankles... and assorted hammy and muscle issues... dude will be using a mobility scooter at some point in his near future...

I think the Americans with Disabilities Act allows Dak to play with a scooter.

It makes sense in theory but these are the Cowboys we’re talking about. The same team being run by Jerry Jones, who just gave Dak a 4-year extension last year with $231 million guaranteed and a killer hit against the cap for the next three years at least. Also the same owner who chose Brian Schottenheimer, an uninspiring offensive coordinator who nobody sought after, as their new head coach. Jones can say all he wants about wanting to win but his actions are about as unserious as it gets.

The Cowboys are a joke. That is all.
