After three straight losing, non-playoff seasons, and coming off back-to-back four-win seasons, what are your expections for the Patriots for the 2025 season?

Mod Edit: these threads will help you:

A well coached, disciplined team..
An offense that is interesting, novel and not predictable..
A kick ass defense that is feared by all of their opponents..
A take away give away ratio is minimally 2:1..
Really good ST play..
Total wins this year 8 or better, possibly to be in the running for a wild card slot

Health permitting, they should get at least 9 wins and a Wild Card birth. They've spent a lot of money, only this time the players are good enough. This league isn't stacked like it used to be in the 1990's through the 2000's. This division is not a gauntlet like it was from 1996-1999. When a trash team like the Commanders go 12-5, the expectations for this team should go up. There have been 7 playoff teams in the AFC for the last few years which is almost half the conference. If you can't make the playoffs in this era, this something seriously wrong.

They've made lots of moves with both coaching and personnel. Maye is in his 2nd season and they have plenty of veteran players. They excuse card of "they suck" and having incompetent coaching has run out.

7 wins and if Maye is for real arrow pointing up.

Which would be a marked improvement from last year when they weren't playing football like a Division II team does.

That was the worst coaching I have ever witnessed. Mayo ran that team like a pee wee football team, throw the ball out and let them play. “ once they are inside those lines there is nothing I can do to help them,” but I will take them all out for pizza after the game.

It was embarrassingly unprofessional. My expectation (and fervent hope) is that our team will once again be a tough out that no one looks forward to on their schedule and sure as hell doesn't want to see in December. Give me that this year and I'll be content that the ship has been righted. Which is no small thing because after the past few years an institutional sea change is in order to restore the required professionalism it takes to be consistently competitive.

My expectations for last season were really low and completely reasonable. Play hard, play clean, play smart. They didn’t come anywhere near meeting any of those goals. It was the ****tiest performance I have seen in decades. I have to go back to the Hugh Miliating era to even come close to that flaming pile of ****.

First and foremost, watchable football…I think if they’re doing that, then the other things like oh….say winning, will happen. The past few years I’ve only been able to watch small doses of their terrible play and it would be nice if it wasnt cringeworthy.

0. SUSTAINED CONSISTENT EFFORT FROM EVERYONE
1. A winning record
2. Improvement from Maye (more TDs, better TD/INT ratio)
3. 1,000 receiving yards from Efton Chism

LMFAO. I Luv you're expectation, we need at least 2.

I'm sure the defense will be tremendously aggressive, smart and fun to watch. If the offense is at least average, it'll be a good season.

My expectations are more on the player development side and overall playing traits than their record.

Effort should be consistently high level. They build enough respectable competition across the roster that everyone should feel like bad effort will cost them their playing time and they should play accordingly.

Mistakes happen and are a part of development, but the team should either look like a smart, well coached football team or there should be real evidence that they're on their way to that. Maybe the rookie RB Henderson loses a fumble early in the season fighting for extra yards in a situation not worth it? Ok, fine... as long as he learns from it and isn't still doing that by the end of the year. Maybe the rookie WR Williams or even Polk/Baker if they earn playing time drop a pass thinking about YAC before securing it... it happens but it should be happened less or not at all by the end of the year.

For the last few years, this team has had no identifiable strengths. There's been nothing they do well to hang their hat on for either side of the ball really. Particularly on defense, this year I think they have some of that. Their interior pass rush should be great. Their edge setting and LB run fits should be strong. Their outside coverage should be good. We should see them exhibit those strengths weekly and a scheme should be built around that.

I still don't think this is a very good roster. I'd say we're still the least talented team in the NFL. But with a week schedule, if they play the right way, they should see some success still and the above should lead to a respectable win-loss record. But if they show the above and the record still sucks because of some bad breaks, close losses, etc. then I'll be ok.

:Smart, Physical and Aggressive Football team.
:Opposing QB’s under constant pressure and lots of TFL’s on RB’s.
:Good solid running game with Maye contributing to that.
:Maybe looking comfortable in McDaniels offense.
:Maye being smart with the ball and cutting down on turnovers and sliding before being tackled.
:Receivers getting open.
:Smart and common sense decisions being made by Vrabel.
:9 to 10 wins.

I want to see the return of a disciplined defense and a run for a top 10 defense, both pass/run. I don't want zero blitzes when everything is on the line only to **** up the DB assignments.

On the offense, I want to see multiple sustained drives and a drastic decrease is 3-and-outs. I want to see CONSISTENCY on the OL, this includes LINEUP. Goddamn thing was a Rubik's Cube of combinations last year, and honestly, prolly since 2021.

I want to be second in the division while still taking a W over Buffalo.

Not gonna toss predicted passing/run stats, I guess just more wins.
