Of the 4 HCs you listed Shula would be my last choice. He had top QBs for decades but could only win his two titles by cheating.Don Shula has the most wins all-time by an NFL coach with 328, followed by George Halas with 318, Bill Belichick with 302 and Andy Reid with 273.
Will Reid keep coaching to get the record? 55 to tie, 56 to break the record. Five seasons to go?
Your thoughts?
Or some guys are meant to be DC instead of a head coach. Vic Fangio is an example of one and I think Spags is another.I hate to say it but probably not. Reid looks like he ages a decade each year. I hope I'm wrong. He's not the only mastermind on the team though. I wouldn't be opposed to Spags replacing him as HC if need be. Spags failed as a HC in the past but he never had a Mahomes.
Neither of them had great QBs. Belichick could have shared the same fate if he didn't have Brady. All I'm saying is if and when Reid goes, I wouldn't mind seeing Spags get a 2nd chance but this time with a HOF QB.Or some guys are meant to be DC instead of a head coach. He might get a second chance but tbh Spags team was not just a QB away in St Louis. They were terrible on both sides of the ball. Some guys are excellent at the X's and O's of football but when it comes to coaching there's a lot more to it than that. Belichick learned that lesson in Cleveland.Neither of them had great QBs. My original thought was that Reid could catch Shula* but then I realized I made an error with my math. Nobody's catching Shula*, just like nobody's catching Brady.I hate to say it but probably not. Spags failed as a HC in the past but he never had a Mahomes. Mahomes is not reliant on Reids playcalling. He basically won his first SB by calling the Jet Chip Wasp play. That was all Mahomes. He's at that point where he can pretty much run an offence all on his own like all the other greats.
Spags has been very impressive as a DC. If I'm KC I wouldn't move him from there if I could help it.He might get a second chance but tbh Spags team was not just a QB away in St Louis.
