I actually thought it was the best quote this offseason. It was the most honest assessment of what went on last year that you could ask for. Players want to win, and being in the situation where you know the coaching is a joke, and there is no hope has to really suck. I think White is going to have a strong season.

White isn't a dominant pass rusher. But he was the patriots best pass rusher last year. This year he will be 3rd or 4th. I expect a breakout season

Quotes for emphasis. The pass rush was abysmal last year but he did lead the team in pressures with 45, forced two fumbles and Batted down 3 passes. Something to build on

While this time of the year is a bit slow on the news end, every now and then a nugget comes out. Keion White, in an interview, said "I was training myself, I’m not going to lie... Now, I feel like I have a coach"

He goes on to praise Mike Smith for giving direction.

Now White is an interesting, polarizing player on this team. Some people here hold a lot of hope for him, some think his overpursuit and lack of discipline make him a bad player.

What're the hopes for White with this new staff? I have always been in the first category and very much believe a good coach is gonna do great things with him.

Mayo was not ready to be a DC never mind a HC at any level but pee wee football.

Why dont people get that Kraft only put Mayo in that position because he was up for NFL HOF voting? After Kraft did not even make round 2 of HOF voting, Mayo would have had to had an exceptional rookie season as an NFL HC with a poor draft class and cheapskate FA period to see year 2.

We will never hear the truth from Mayo because he and his wife are being paid off to stay silent.

True, but it does show that he wants to be on a winner, and for the first time since he was drafted it sounds like he wants to be here.

There's no downside anymore in Pro Sports with that statement. The upside is that it gives Vrabel a chance to tell him that he appreciates the honesty but let's move forward.

Well, it’s a lot better than throwing the fans under the bus.

Now, he has put pressure on himself but it’s year 3 and it is time to step up anyway. If he can’t improve his production with this coaching staff and defensive line, then he is what he is.

At the end of the day White needs to produce on the field and he hasn't done it consistently yet. If he were a perennial Pro Bowler his words would have credibility. Talking is worthless.

I've been criticizing him since his rookie year where he played along side Barmore's standout season, but White was pretty invisible under Bill. He doesn't seem to have a repertoire of rush moves and teams were able to catch on after week 2 when his disappearance happened. He's now got Barmore back and the additions Williams and Landry. If he can't get it together at this point, he is what he is.

But I agree with the overall sentiments. He’s putting himself out there and needs to now produce. Being willing to publicly criticize coaching staffs will not appeal to future employers if he doesn’t work out with the Pats.

But what it can be is a jumping point in discussion: like, what's the track record for Adam Smith? I don't know much about his tenure with other teams.

Also, what do we view the ceiling of Keion as? Are his disappearances a reflection of him not having the right tools? Or is he simply a limited player?

Bill didn't give him a lot as a rookie, last year was a fkn disaster, with ZERO COACHING.
I expect Big Things from White THIS year, if he doesn't produce, cut the cord
I think with a chance, with good coaching and awesome partners, he's going to be a Monster.
