you’re giving credit to your hoodied hero for “developing” a guy who was already 7 year vet looool. And what happened to him the year after they went to the playoffs? Parcells elevated Vinny not BB.

So we can't discuss Vinny because he came up on another team before Bill got him. Yet we can't talk about Cassell, Jimmy, or Jacoby because they moved on to other teams. We can't talk about Brady because you're a hater. So that really only leaves Mac. Interesting how you twist everything to fit your narratives

At the end of the day none of that matters anyway since he did develop the greatest QB of all time it kind of makes all the other examples mute.

He's also helped develop the greatest LB of all time, the greatest TE of all time, and the greatest kicker of all time. Just to name a few other notches on that coaching belt.

And built great teams around him for years and years. The “ it was all Brady” argument is as ignorant as the “ it was all Belichick,” argument, and “ Belichick never made any mistakes” arguments. It took both of them, and many great coaches and players to achieve a 20 year dynasty. And the fact that Belichick did a poor job after Brady left doesn’t damage his legacy in any way, as building the only 20 year dynasty in NFL history, and 6 Lombardi’s overwhelms that part of his tenure. No team in history did well when their Dynasties ended.

However, people pretending that it was anything but an injury that forced the coach to start Brady and acting like it was his genius that caused him to start Brady are just grasping at straws to credit Belichick with anything they can. Brady became a starter because an injury forced the teams hand.

I think this is true. I don’t think Belichick would have started Brady at that point if Bledsoe had not gotten hurt, however I do think that Brady could have taken over if Bledsoe had been headed for another losing season. Belichick wanted a QB who would make every decision the way Belichick expected it to be made, Bledsoe wasn’t that guy, and Brady was, and if things had continued to go south I believe Belichick would ultimately put Brady in for him.

Michael Holley disagreed in his early 2000’s book Patriot Reign. He said BB was headed there anyway.

I had a running argument with Bernard Pollard on Twitter about it, and he kept giving me the “ I played in the NFL and played against Brady” argument, and insisted Brady could never win without Belichick, and then blocked me when Brady won with Tampa Bay and I shoved it back into his face. And as you know there is a vocal contingent here that refuse to hold Belichick accountable for his failures after Brady left, and instead try to blame his underlings for it, which is equally stupid. The person who is in charge gets the credit, and likewise they get the blame, it works both ways. And both of these guys are the respective GOATS, and if anyone should understand that it’s Patriot fans.

It is amazing how stupid these people are. How anyone can forget the debacle that was Parcells and Belichick both leaving here and arriving at the NYJ at the same time is incredible.

As far as the Jets are concerned, there is no Parcells (as a HC) without Belichick. They were both there for the 9-7 first year, the 12-4 second year, and the 8-8 3rd year.

(Yes Parcells moved to the front office after the whole craziness of the 2000 offseason, but he was never HC of the NYJ without BB)
