Not unexpected, recovery was probably not going great/lack of interest around the league. Perhaps wasn't worth whatever money he may have been offered. Love seeing a guy wear one jersey but sad for him it's over.

His red jacket awaits

He had a good career and won some Super Bowls.

Not shocking, the writing was on the wall. Player thought he still could play, league said nope. Good for him, hope he is happy in retirement.

Beast!

Vrabel should keep his number just in case.

Congrats on a great career.

I mean....yeah. If the Patriots, with the most woeful offensive line situation last year, can't see a way to use you... kinda says it all.

Great Patriot, very good center.

Congrats on a great career.

Yep. Andrews was a UDFA that parlayed his chance into a 10 year career and 2 Super Bowl rings, a great career in anybody's book

Great career as a 1st rounder, exemplary as a UDFA. Now the dude gets a red jacket, as @Froob said. Outstanding.

Expected this was likely. Hope his rehabilitation is ultimately successful. He was a very valuable asset to the team, and deserves all the best.

Impressive career accomplishments: UDFA week 1 starter as a rookie, eight time captain, two Super Bowl championships.

He was released with a failed physical designation, FWIW.

....and $33.1m in pre-tax, cash earnings.

Busted his ass. Had some health issues. Put his body through hell. Glad he had a rewarding career and earned a great living.

Miss you Bear, best to you in the next phase of your life.

Yep. Hes deserving but when guys like Vinatieri, Hightower, James White, Gronk, etc are waiting he'll be waiting after them.
His time will come up. They should do something about the current log jam because one a year isn't going to be enough over the next few years.

Also kind of proves Wolf and Company made the right move back in February when they released him. The "haters" made a lot of noise at the time.

Epitome of the Patriot Way, what a great career and can't wait to see him back at Gillette to get his due. Might have to wait awhile to get his jacket, but I'd love to see him show up at TC this summer and start to enjoy his retirement and get some hard earned love from the fans.

One of those happy, good-feeling moonshot stories. The man made the most of his opportunity. Not the most talented or athletic but certainly one of the more mentally sharp players on the OL.

Don't think I ever saw him fumble a snap during a real game.

Good Dude, Good Center, Great success story (UDFA to 3X SB Champion), Solid leader and teammate.
