I was open to a trade down if we were offered a king’s random...

A king's random what?
Me, I'd have needed some specifics before I could determine how open I'd be... can't be trusting those king types
(I'll show myself out)

It looks like there are way better bets than those top 7.
The jury is out on Johnson as a coach and Glenn for that matter. We know full well what Vrabel brings as a HC. Guys won and took his team deep in the playoffs.. with tannehhill who's probably just as good as Brissett.

Out of those 3 choices I'd bet Vrabel but looks like half the league has way better odds.

I'd agree a retired tannehill is probably as good as Brissett is today. Career-wise, one is a bonafide NFL starter. The other is Jacoby.

Great analogy.. tannehhill did have a decent season at one point under Vrabel.. is he still in the league?? Back up somewhere? Dobbs for that matter drakes back up is better than Jacoby.. Dobbs had the league on notice for minute there.. he caught lightning in a bottle at one point.

I don’t know, you agreed with OneIfBySea that Wolf was just a secretary, then you agreed with me that he was integral to their draft. And therein lies the problem 02’, you agree with everyone, even when they are on polar opposite sides of an argument. But I’ll give you credit, you can never be wrong when you take all sides of any position.

02 is the anti Andy with a dash of Oprah mixed in.
"You get an agree and you get an agree and you get an agree..."

was pretty good, but could do without shoving Elliot Wolf down our throats
How else is he going to get that Giants GM job next year, without having his face out there?

just heard Zolak and Bertrand talking about this documentary - even they're calling it out for being Elliot Wolf propaganda....

I REALLY enjoyed it, love the inside look on so many facets of the offseason. Love that they have no problem talking to the scouts in the draft war room and asking their opinions while they were on the clock.

It was obvious they were swayed by some of the 30 visits, they loved Campbell, Henderson & Williams, besides their talents, they were blow away by who they are as people. Having seen some interviews with the rookies, I see why. Outside of the top 3 picks, I really LOVED Jared Wilson’s interview. Just seems so smart and hungry to play for the Pats.
Where did you see the interviews?

Thanks for the post! Watched it and enjoyed but need to take it at what it is. Fluff. And nothing wrong with that but if you’re expecting them to talk about who they had on the radar that was gone etc, you will be sorely disappointed because this info will NOT come out unless leaked. I’m sure hearing that you were taken at spot X because someone else they wanted was already taken would not be good for these players to hear. Unless I’m way off but that’s what I think we won’t see on this. Maybe it will be talked about elsewhere by a coach during some show on tv, but not in a fluff piece like this.

I agree it looks as though Wolf had some success following Vrabel's lead, but I disagree with you that Wolf's credit as an executive assistant in 2025 offsets his failures as the acting GM in 2024.
Well, look at it this way. If his 2024 picks had worked out, we'd still have Mayo.

Still not sure how I feel about this level of access, presence of cameras, etc. Wish Vrabel and the team would be left alone to work instead of feeling like every move is being recorded in 4k from multiple angles with high quality audio.

Absolutely impossible to avoid in the current age. The right thing to do is take it head on and take control of the process rather than push it away, try to reject it, and potentially get caught on camera with nonfavorable stuff. Then the worst that can be said is "well this is a fluff piece," a comment that will live for about Qo seconds after we all move on.

The secrecy and hermetic nature of the NE Patriots, 2001-2022 was, like many things that era, unprecedented and extremely enforced on all levels, probably to the dismay of RK. I don't imagine it happening again.

I do agree though. I don't really care about this stuff. But hey, it's better than some doinks prodding for quotes and taking everything out of context for clicks.

anyone else find it odd that camron williams was so involved with this production yet they fired him or let him go ?

It's such a refreshing change to have a draft strategy that accounts for where players are likely to go off the board (Tavon Wilson, Jordan Richards, 4th round kickers, cough, cough.)

Fourth-rounder Gostkowski says WTF, dude.

Just finished watching it, couple of things stand out. First, i was on the Ben Johnson over Vrable train and obviously its early and the results on the field over the next couple of years will prove it one way or the other but DAMN does Vrable look sound and act like a top tier grade A head coach. Im ready to run thru a brick wall for that man and i think my favorite quote was he's an a hole but the right kind of a hole that even Vrabs chuckled over like yeah that fits. Just watching him talk to the team, correct things on the field, and interact with the player and thier families...its like they got a media savvy good with people version of Belichick. Again obviously still alot to prove on the field, but the video got me excited for the coaching players are going to get.

2nd thing was HOLY CRAP are you kidding me the move kyle williams put on that poor DB in the shrine Game? I was cautiously optimistic about the kid based on scouting reports but WOW that was nasty. We are so overdue for at least a decent starter level draft pick at WR and i think this kid might be it.

3rd Still concerned about Campbells narrow frame and lack of bulldozing run blocking ability but jeez does his passion and care for his team mates and football come thru. I will be shocked to my core if he is not a decent 10 year starter somewhere on the line and am 100% in on giving him the entire year to prove it can be at LT. The more i see and hear from the kid the happier i am with the pick. Regardless of how well he does individually on the field i think he will be a tone setter and a foundational building block on the offense that makes everyone else better for the next decade.

Overall just amazing the difference in feel between the team this year versus last. Fall football can not get here soon enough.

I am with you on Campbell regarding the narrow frame, and if it was like last year where Maye was the only player we got in the draft, it would be more of a concern, but since Campbell is a tone setter and potentially perennial all pro guard at worst, and this draft was such a grand slam overall, that is easy to accept.

Campbell would have not lasted much longer.

I dont think he will be a perennial pro bowl guard. Too tall, not enough power. Like i said he lacks that bulldozer run blocking ability you want from a guard. What he does have is athleticism in spades. A 320lb guy running a sub 5 second 40? Thats the same as a WR running a 4.3 and all of his other "stats" say he is fast and explosive for a guy at 270lbs nevermind at 320. Honestly i expect him to be somewhere in that 10th-20th best in the league at either position, i.e no all pros, a 3rd alternate probowler on his best year, kind of guy. What i do think will happen is he will be that glue player, the one who when you look individually you are like he's not that special, but when you look back somehow his unit is top 10 year in and year out and the talking heads have no idea why. Thats what has me excited about the guy because i feel like he is exactly what the offense needs going forward, someone who will make everyone else better and demand excellence by setting an elite example of hardwork and passion.

If my Aunt had balls, she would be my Uncle. Who cares about random nonexistent hypotheticals?
