What’s Left To Do?

I don’t see many more moves to make before the season for now, barring injuries over the next few months. Maybe another vet in the secondary, or on the edge would be nice?

I don’t really want any more moves made at receiver/OL for now. Would rather let the younger guys in each group develop, and go with what we have this year.

Who is projecting that line up?
Me

So there is no confusion this is what I am referring to

The New England Patriots are pro- jected to start Will Campbell (LT),
Layden Robinson (LG), Garrett Bradbury (C), Mike Onwenu (RG), and Morgan Moses (RT) along the offensive line. This projection includes the re- cent addition of Will Campbell, who was drafted
by the Patriots. ©
Here's a more detailed breakdown: • Left Tackle (LT): Will Campbell, the team's first- round draft pick, is projected to start at left
tackle. • Left Guard (LG): Layden Robinson is projected to
start at left guard. • Center (C): Garrett Bradbury is expected to start
at center. • Right Guard (RG): Mike Onwenu is projected to
start at right guard. • Right Tackle (RT): Morgan Moses is expected to
start at right tackle.

Sign a DT formerly of the Titans apparently.

Why not i guess? Kind of interested why they signed him. Not big enough to be a true run stuffer. Not fast enough to rush the passer. Had very little production in college totaling 1 sack and 5 TFL in 36 games. I know they need camp bodies anyway.... And bringing in anyone of higher value might cost a signing bonus, but there had to be someone better than this. And his RAS is meh too.

Is NOONE looking at him to be a backup LT?
If he was so good to keep Membou at RT, he's hopefully good enough to be our BU LT.
I have no idea.

We are all hoping that Bryant is the BU LT, and Lowe is gone, but we really don't know either. No-one, that I have seen, has a good reason why Bryant was at LT and Membou was a RT except that "they wanted the least OL disruption possible" (seems unlikely going from one year to the next).

BTW, the JETE drafted Membou so there must be something wrong with that draft pick

With the primary phase of free agency done, and the Draft and UDFA’s taken care of the only remaining question for the Patriots is what remains to be done, either through free agency or trade? And given the number of issues and holes they had to address this offseason you would expect there to be a number of areas left needing to be addressed, but I can really only come up with one, back up left tackle. But I’m interested in seeing what else people here feel needs to be addressed?
At this point, I think they should stand fast with what they have. I think they have a great starting point and have greatly improved their roster and depth. Once training camp is concluded they will have an idea if Sow, Olayden, Lowe, Wallace, Strange, Bryant and others are worthy of being on the roster.

There is going to be great competition at every position group except QB. At WR we currently have 12 guys that have talents of varying degrees, so when they dwindle down to 6 we should have 6 quality WRs and won't necessarily need to add to it. We also have 4 quality guys vying for RB spots, then decide if they are using a TE or an actual FB. The 4 sons (Steven, Gib, Lari, and Hendo) are going to be a fun battle to watch.

Speaking of TE we have quite a few that could earn spots. I think Bell and Dippre could battle with Lampe as the FB. On defense there is a tremendous amount of talent and it will also be a fun watch. After the cutdown to 53, I anticipate 1 or 2 acquisitions.

They signed two more guys today. It is going to be a constant roster churn for awhile.

My next target would definitely be Isaiah Iton.

For this year? Not a ton. Roster is good enough to see a dramatic improvement this year.

Next year?

Young stud TE, stud RT or LT (depends on Campbell), DE, true X WR, probably another young RB.

Coach’em up and see if they can play.

Rinse repeat and draft another strong class next year.

That’s why I said they need to trade for a quality back up left tackle.
I want to see what he can do with actual good coaching, he has not really had good coaching since his rookie year in Minny, I assume. He looked alright-ish at Illinois. His feet are slow and he does not change direction very well nor does he get push in the run game. I want to see if he improves some under the tutelage of Marone and McD.

I Think that Cole Birdow is a surprise on the 53 and replace Lowe.

I can see our 9-10 OL being OT-Campbell, Moses, Wallace and Birdow/OG-Owenu, Conley, Robinson, Strange/OC-Bradbury, Wilson
