Lowe has experience as a starting OT.
You can do worse for a backup.
Of course, if Bryant shows something so much the better.
But he played like **** when he was out there.

I was one player off my prediction.
Sign a DT formerly of the Titans apparently.
We drafted him.Didn't we sign the LT that supposedly kept Membou at RT?

We are all hoping that Bryant is the BU LT, and Lowe is gone, but we really don't know either. No-one, that I have seen, has a good reason why Bryant was at LT and Membou was a RT except that "they wanted the least OL disruption possible" (seems unlikely going from one year to the next). Is NOONE looking at him to be a backup LT?
If he was so good to keep Membou at RT, he's hopefully good enough to be our BU LT.
I have no idea.
At this point, I think they should stand fast with what they have. I think they have a great starting point and have greatly improved their roster and depth. Once training camp is concluded they will have an idea if Sow, Olayden, Lowe, Wallace, Strange, Bryant and others are worthy of being on the roster. With the primary phase of free agency done, and the Draft and UDFA’s taken care of the only remaining question for the Patriots is what remains to be done, either through free agency or trade? And given the number of issues and holes they had to address this offseason you would expect there to be a number of areas left needing to be addressed, but I can really only come up with one, back up left tackle. But I’m interested in seeing what else people here feel needs to be addressed?
They signed two more guys today. It is going to be a constant roster churn for awhile. At this point, I think they should stand fast with what they have. There is going to be great competition at every position group except QB. At WR we currently have 12 guys that have talents of varying degrees, so when they dwindle down to 6 we should have 6 quality WRs and won't necessarily need to add to it. We also have 4 quality guys vying for RB spots, then decide if they are using a TE or an actual FB. The 4 sons (Steven, Gib, Lari, and Hendo) are going to be a fun battle to watch.
Speaking of TE we have quite a few that could earn spots. I think Bell and Dippre could battle with Lampe as the FB. On defense there is a tremendous amount of talent and it will also be a fun watch. After the cutdown to 53, I anticipate 1 or 2 acquisitions.
Then you should be happy. My next target would definitely be Isaiah Iton.
I want to see what he can do with actual good coaching, he has not really had good coaching since his rookie year in Minny, I assume. He looked alright-ish at Illinois. His feet are slow and he does not change direction very well nor does he get push in the run game. I want to see if he improves some under the tutelage of Marone and McD.That’s why I said they need to trade for a quality back up left tackle.
