Get over it and stop living in the past. Ya, they made a massive mistake. What is whining about it over and over and over going to do to change it?
Without the spectacular and frothy whining, there is no Patsfan.com.

I have most of them on ignore but they are a beautiful lot.

Are we evaluating Chism or romancing Welker/Edleman being back? I'd love Chism to be good but Welker/Edleman were short area lightning quick. You couldn't cover them. Chism's foot speed is not great. I've not watched a ton on him, but in his case, I'll be surprised if he can be a slot machine in the NFL and good enough to beat out a Pop D etc.
I'll say this Chism's "Lateral Quickness" is on par... they Welk/Squirrel weren't going to beat anybody in a footrace either.

True, but Chism is really really slow.
And that's how we define some Guys more Quick than Fast. He'll move the chains: he just won't outrun most for 40 yards...we can live with that.

The same could be said for Xavier Restrepo who also went UnDrafted. Watching the tapes Chism looks clearly Quicker.

The slower a player is the easier they are to guard. Even quick guys are easier to guard if they are slow. Chism is not only slow over 40 yards, he is slow over 5 and 10 yards. I hope he works out, but it is a tall order.

Edelman, for example, was slow but fast compared to Chism.

You're going like Chism just like Elliott Wolf GM of the year.

I think some of the UDFA talk is way premature but let them have their fun we all need it. Hopefully some reports out of rookie mini camp confirm their thinking but I'll wait until I see them at training camp and preseason to get too excited.

Some posters have 4 UDFAs making the 53 man roster. Maybe 2 if Dippre beats out Bell plus Larison if we carry 4 RBs? We will see. Injuries happen so stranger things have happened.

If 4 UDFAs make this team then last year's class will have fallen on their face again and I'd be afraid some of this year's class is too.

I do agree it seems odd with such a big draft class that many are still jumping straight to the UDFA class. But I do enjoy some of the optimism and just learning a little about these guys even if I find it very premature.

I attribute some of it to my own laziness with the college game because if I followed it as hardcore as the NFL I'm sure I'd have more binkies.

Some guys are able to defy the 40 numbers, Jerry Rice, Emmitt Smith, Cooper Kupp…..but they are outliers. I think there’s a decent chance they convert Larison to a slot. Either way I think he makes the 53 and Chism the P.S.
Smith ran a 4.53, Kupp a 4.62, Chism a 4.71. I don't think posters understand how slow a 4.71 is for a WR.
