The Bill megathread (HC at UNC, girlfriend, etc.)

BB is not stupid. He may make choices someone disagrees with, but the man is not stupid.

That has nothing at all to do with my post, I was simply noting you were a bit harsh on @VectorPrime which was my objective opinion. I have never said a thing disparaging BB's intelligence and I routinely defend him from a football standpoint. Said it before and I'll say it again, if BB isn't the GOAT of head coaches he's sure as hell in the conversation. As for the other areas of his life, it's no skin off of me what goes on between two consenting adults who are capable of making their own life decisions.

All joking aside, life is short, if it does no one else harm then everyone should be free to enjoy their happiness alongside whoever they find it with. That said, people are always going to joke about the uncomfortable, incongruous and awkward and for someone as smart as Bill to expect otherwise is just not realistic. He and Jordan Hudson put themselves in the very public crosshairs they find themselves in by being so very public with their relationship. They've sown the seeds, they own the harvest. That's just how the world has always worked.

For a guy who likes to "fly under the media radar" he is doing a crappy job...

Kelsey Grammer has an interview coming up on CBS Sunday mornings do you think they'll let him sell his book or will they just ask him about cheating on his ex-wife?

I'm sorry but it seems like you haven't been paying attention to the media's direction the past 20 years. I too preferred it when the media conducted itself in a Cronkite like fashion but we are living in a TMZ world and have been for a while now.

May seem like just 20 years ago, but the slide started almost 40 years ago when the Fairness Doctrine was struck down under Ronald Reagan. Along the way, the personal attack/political editorial rule was also struck down.

Will his new side piece be in the room as an on-site editor and back seat driver?

Kelsey has been in this game a long time. His team will be there ready to shut it down before he even gets the chance to trip over his words if they go off script or on such a direction his pre planned answers are no good.

If Bill responded to the question himself saying he’s not answering the question and that he’s there to talk about his book and football, that would have been fine. The fact that his girlfriend, who was not being interviewed, interrupted is what’s odd.

His response misses the point. It was also odd that she was on the field talking to him while he was conducting a practice is also very odd and is clearly out of character for him. This whole situation is very troubling.
I agree…..when Bill’s girlfriend answered the question from offstage I was shocked and the CBS guy was like “We? I’m not interviewing you I’m interviewing Bill and if he decides he doesn’t want to talk about that that’s one thing……. but obviously she seems like a spoiled control freak who has put a spell on Bill somewhat….he seems to almost look at her as if to say “can I answer this one?” She seems a bit dangerous for him and I think he needs to cut her loose ….especially if he wants to coach one more time in NFL…..I think the raiders owner might give it a go……Last thing……WTF is up with that sweatshirt? First it’s Navy not NC, secondly it’s tattered and there is an odd hole in it right in view….didn’t his handler think he should wear something a little more business like when going on CBS in front of millions of people and maybe something with UNC on it?! Weird

I have no idea because interviews don't typically show or discuss the PR/mangers off screen. But I guess tune in Sunday to find out.

Which ex wife? Kelsey pays out more in alimony than the GDP output for most small nations.

I think it makes perfect sense. The same reason young attractive women have dated rich old men for ages. Also, she apparently is already a multi million because of dating him. Which kind of makes the fact she's still with him more interesting to me. She doesn't need him anymore. But is staying with him. Which means she must really enjoy the attention and being around famous rich people. And wants to stay in that circle. And that alone is worth sticking with Bill.

Keep in mind I am not criticizing her for this. It's her life and she should do what makes her happy. But I do find it interesting how much people can value such a thing as being in the in crowd and rubbing shoulders with the elite that it becomes their main focus/goal.

Criticism is an interesting word. I think many here are just concerned that a person who they respect, and who once projected themselves as being a leader of others and a person of integrity, is letting himself be led around by his willy. Is voicing such concerns criticism? I suppose so, in the broader sense of the word.

I get that these are two adults and he can do what he wants with his children's and grandchildren's inheritance. Yet part of the reason why he has that pile of money to splurge on real estate for his squeeze is that he proselytized concepts like the Patriots Way to the fan base and some of them feel pretty disappointed in his behavior.

Personally, I don't feel disappointed, but I do feel it's displaying poor judgement. Maybe he should be praised for his IDGAF attitude, but in my life I find having such an attitude doesn't often turn out well. It ends up being hurtful to me and to others in my life.

Which in the strictness definition makes her a whore.

The relationship is transactional. Money and career advancement is gained.

Yeah, but there is a hierarchy of such things. Street whore, call girl, mistress, kept woman, ... All of them are transactional.

She's moved beyond whore into kept woman territory, IMO. The strange thing is we don't know who is keeping who.

Agree. How about Geisha from Nauset with Benefits? lol

We do have to give her credit: most women in such situations go for expensive jewelry, but she went right for real estate. I would suggest "grifter with benefits" but the thing is she is actually having to do some work to keep up appearances. Usually they are total free-loaders.

Maybe "business partner" fits since one usually screws their business partner, she just took the expression literally.

I'm not much for cross-posting, but these two threads appear to have converged.

Now that we have Vrabel’s as HC along with competent coaching and staff in place, along with a clear image of what BB is devolving into, I don’t remember being so optimistic and enthused about the Pat’s future than I have been in a very long time.
The odd thing is I thought we'd be getting that back in the MP/JJ year. Both guys by that time were former NFL head coaches and had lots of experiences working under Bill. We were coming off a season with young QB who led us to a 10-7 record. The tip off should have been that Bill pulled their names out his back side late in the off-season, neither had been an OC before, and Bill also hired both his sons.

Thank you for everything you did for Pats Nation Bill, but your time has passed. I am saddened that you will never get the all time NFL wins now, and I wish you much luck in your future endeavors, but your current incarnation is painful to watch, and you are now in my rear view mirror.
I'm not finding it painful, I'm finding it amusing. The man's been around the block. He knows what a honey pot is. Yet, apparently, he's gone down the same road with other women before, just not as openly. If it makes him happy so be it, but he's making a fool of himself.

You sure AT&T for that only reason don’t you?
