Loved the Draft and Free Agency... Think we addressed the most pressing needs on the roster... we might not have solved all out problems, but we took a big step forward...

The biggest change from Y1pbb to Y2pbb is the wholesale replacement of the coaching staff... last year, the staff was inexperienced, and at times even appears unknowledgeable about the game of football... the games we did win, with the exception of Cincy, it felt like we lucked into it... Vrabel & Staff might not be the second coming of Lombardi & Co., but I think we will be much better prepared to face the future than we were last year...

With that said... Drake Maye... you now see the new pieces on the board... new OC... new players... new era... what are you expecting from him? His numbers from last year... and remember its based on ten games (yeah, stats say 13, but really, he played 10 full games)

what are your projections?

He needs to improve the td/int percentage... got to do a deeper dive into his splits, but improvements could be made in areas like first down passes... depth of target... and others i suppose that I cannot think of...

what you got Drake Maye racking up numbers wise with all the new toys and Josh running the show?

He needs to not average 2 turnovers a game, and stop getting concussions. Baby steps.
I'll need to see a couple of preseason games before I can get an idea as to actual expectations numbers-wise.

Yup. Maye is the question.

We may have the team that WAS had. But it would take a lot for us to get anywhere close to the same quality of QB play.

Stats would be nice, but I want to see him lead drives and score points which leads to wins. Some on here think it's an impossible feat for him to get at least 8-9 wins and compete for a playoff spot with all the additions they've had with coaching and personnel.

I’d like to see him add 5-10 pounds of muscle. He’s a big guy, but has said he hasn’t done much weight training. Just a little added muscle and he’ll be a beast to take down similar to Josh Allen.

Obviously, I hope he is spending the offseason studying film and getting on the same page as McDaniels.

He threw 10 in slightly over 10 games last year. It's hardly off the mark.
it was a joke... maybe not a good one.., but one none the less, lol

It’s going to take time for Maye to get a full grasp of McDaniels’ offense. Second offense in two years, that’s not easy. But I think he’s gonna have a nice 2nd season. I think it’ll be a run first offense, so I can see 3500+ yards passing, 25+ TD passes and hopefully less than 10 INTs. Then 400+ yards rushing with 5+ rushing TDs. Just limit mistakes.

Improvement.

I think he has the opportunity to reach very high potential under JMcD and Vrabel, but he's still a 2nd year player who will be 23 yrs old when he trots out on Opening Day. Let's not saddle him with MVP level expectations just yet.

Something like 3200 yards, 70% completions, somewhere in the 20s for TDs, less than 10 picks. Anything in rushing yards is a bonus, I really don't want to beat the **** out of the kid. I think 1 or 2 designed runs per game is ok IMO. Between that and scrambling is putting him in harms way enough for my taste.

A hell of a lot less running please. Stay in the pocket, stay tall, have the patience to let the plays unfold. Throw it away if needed be, but quit putting the cape on every time the protection breaks down.

With the structure, talent, and coaching around him this year, and with his football IQ, I expect damn near perfection week in and week out. Long drives except for those with the 50 yd completions, great red zone efficiency, no turnovers. This offense is gonna be very difficult to get off the field and will score points.

Still no elite wr talent so i don’t expect anything bigger than modest #s. Similar to mac’s rookie year but hopefully better. Id Like to see the defense and run game with improved OL lessen the load on him and lead to less turnovers. A situation like last year is a breeding ground for qb turnovers, ESPECIALLY a rookie

I think the team overall will rush for over 2200 yards so he shouldn’t have to totally carry the team on the regular which should limit INT’s by itself. I also think the defense will be better giving Drake more series’

With the new players around him and better coaching it still may be a tough year for him having to learn another offense early in his career, its almost like rookie year #2. I do think there will be some established comfort as he does have a season under his belt. My biggest hopes for him is to protect himself and the ball. He doesn't need to try to carry the team on his shoulders. He needs to take what the defense gives him and sometimes just throw the ball away instead of forcing a bad decision. His success this year will largely fall on Josh and how he teaches Drake and how much they put on his plate. This offense needs to be balanced and find success running early and often as well as having a decent amount of high percentage passing options. We dont have TB12 who could throw the ball 50 times a game because we cant get the run game going. Everyone needs to step up and give Drake the help and support he needs and when that happens I think he will evolve into our next long term QB.

Obviously, about 4-5 of his INT’s last season were flukes, but I would like to see him cut down on those & the fumbles. I’d also like to see if some of those decisions may have come from Maye thinking he had to play hero ball since the entire offense besides him was atrocious. He will have much better support this year, so I expect him to ball out. Hell, he was relatively amazing last season with garbage around him. I expect something along the lines of:

-4,100-4,600 Passing yards
-67-70% completion %
-8-8.6 YPA
-28-40 Total TDs
-400-750 Rush yards
-10-11 wins
