2025 Draft: Interior Offensive Line

You could explain the left side if you suppose they have offers in on Cam Robinson and Teven Jenkins that are lower than what either were hoping for and as reality hits, those two might lower their expectations. As for center, according to PFF, Ben Brown was the 2nd worst in the league.
No idea what people see in Ben Brown. It's like he's under a pillow and some people think the Tooth Fairy is coming to make a $1 old tooth into a $5 Center but it's really Vrabel going to suffocate him.

I understand completely the hesitancy to draft interior OL since we’ve done that so much the last few years. But none have really stood out yet, maybe they will with better coaching. Im gonna be pretty open minded with this draft process. Let Vrabel bring in the guys he wants. I just want an OL that is not gonna force Maye into a wheelchair.

I dont think this impacts the plan in any way(whatever that is). The writing was on the wall the moment they signed Ben Brown, and why i dont see center as a need.
I do find weird they didnt sign anybody for the left side. Especially considering Vrabel said they wanted to fill the roster in FA and not wait for the draft.
I'm not looking at Ben Brown as the answer.

What people? The ones who are actually in charge and resigned him or we here in the internet? Me personally I don’t see anything special other than someone who can be a backup.
And btw, I don’t mind drafting another C, just don’t think that would be a priority with all the issues with the roster.

I don’t think anyone is. I meant that with 3 C already on the roster, I don’t think that’s where they will be looking.

3?

I count 2 officially and honestly I had never heard of Lecitus Smith

Agreed. But Luke Kandra, the smart, mauling RG at Univ of Cincinnati, just very well may be.

Smart, strong, but 32 1/2” arms. Frankly a steal at 144.

Another binky
Luke Kandra reminds me if one of my all-time Patriot favs. Joe Andruzzi.

Kid is so disciplined, which this line needs with regressing Onwenu and lost Sow, that he had only two penalties during his whole college career as a multiple year starter. First with Louisville. Then with his hometown school in Cincinnati.

He was moved to center in Senior Biwl practices. I’m guessing with his intelligence, discipline, and toughnesss he did quite well.

They have a Tackle that's pretty good too.

Not much of an athlete, but the 33 7/8 arms check out. And the huge 11” hands! Wow!

Probably an upgrade over Demontrey Jacobs. Could Williams be moved over to RT for development?

The aerospace engineer probably can. Perfect developmental swing tackle in a later round.

I was watching Voch Lombardi and Bryan Broaddus talking about Seth McLaughlin, the center from Ohio State and Broaddus compared him to Jason Kelce. I know he's been a favourite of The captain @captain stone for a while now so he's worth digging in to. He has an injury but the signing of Bradbury alleviates some of the concerns there.

from NFL Draft Buzz, this is interesting from a Vrabel standpoint:

You're getting a field general when you draft McLaughlin – a player whose communication skills and understanding of protections will elevate the entire offensive line's performance. The snap issues that plagued him at Alabama have been completely resolved after technical refinements at Ohio State, showcasing his coachability and attention to detail. His medicals will require thorough examination, but the mental toughness displayed after his transfer reveals a resilient competitor who bounces back from setbacks.

And from OL guru Brandon Thorn:

Overall, McLaughlin is an older prospect coming off a major lower leg injury with solid athletic ability and the mental makeup, build, play strength and technical savvy to compete for the pivot job when healthy and stick as a starter long-term in a multiple run scheme.

The fact that he's been a starter at both Alabama and Ohio State means he's played at the highest levels of competition possible.

Here he is blocking two Georgia DL on one play

Hey... North Dakota State's Grey Zabel played Left OT in college and dominated. He happened to be the most athletic tackle at the combine but has 32 inch arms so will be playing guard in the NFL...

They played him inside at the senior bowl, you'll like watching him since he pretty much wins every single matchup.

If he falls to 38 he'd be a really good pick although we'd still need to sort out the LT spot.

Normally I wouldn't care to hear what a prospect has to say about himself lol but I did enjoy his knowledge of the position.

Day 3 option at LG.

He has that tough, take no prisoners mentality that has been missing from the OL. Onwenu hasn’t provided it that’s for sure.

Campbell-Zabel tandem on the left side would be fun and nasty. Just saying.
