Makes sense to me.
Yeah, me too. They brought in Winston and Russ, I don't see them wanting two vets with a R1 rookie.
Can we clarify here.......sober Zo or pickled. I think it matters.
I'm re-watching it now to see where he said it, but it's in here. It's a pretty good listen.

Deion is starting to feel the heat that his kid might not go top ten so he's backing off his helicopter dad stuff.

It still only takes one of those teams but I don't buy that if it were multiple teams that Deion wouldn't try and pull an Eli and steer Sheduer to what thought was the best spot.

Agreed. I really think he just doesn't end up on the Browns, but there's been real backlash.

Exactly.
Daboll is not building a winning franchise With Wilson or Winston at QB,
It’s Sanders.

Maybe Daboll and Schoen were given assurances they are long term to develop a QB.
Could be a couple things.

Option A) They want Sanders but don't know if the Browns will take him ahead of them at #2, so they want to hedge their bets with some veteran options for now just in case.
Option B) They don't actually want Sanders but want teams like the Jets and Saints to THINK that they do in order to try to secure a juicy trade down package.

Either of the above is good for us, because in either scenario, 2 QBs go in the top 3 and it leaves Hunter or Carter (probably Hunter) available at 4.

It was only a year ago where Deion was saying he didn't want Shedeur to play for a cold weather team. “Like, I don’t want my kid [Shedeur] going nowhere cold next year. He grew up in Texas. He played in Jackson [Miss.], played in Colorado. Season’s over before it gets cold in Colorado. I’m just thinking way ahead. I don’t want that for him,” Sanders said, per ProFootballTalk. His tune has changed quite a bit since then.

Presumably, we would need to trade a 2nd, 3rd and 4th to move into the low 20's to get a starting LT, if we can get a trade partner before the players we want are gone.
=========
I suspect that Vrabel would be fine with coming out of the 4th with
Carter or Hunter
a starting LT and
whoever we draft with our other 3rd round pick
==========

Curiously, the Defense also counts.
I have no idea why but I read it as most improved offense. Your take is spot on. Thanks.

@Patsfan1645 Beetle actually said it and Zo cosigned. 12:11 mark, goes on from there.

Zo said no. He intimated that Shefty is either wrong or full of chit.

Not sure if I would take Zo's word over Schefter about anything the Giants might do. Others are reporting that the Giants are going to do their best to draft either Sanders and may even trade up to do so.

The browns may be eyeing something like this at qb. Shefter seems pretty adamant about abdul carter going there.

Hopefully the giants signing Wilson and Winston was just insurance in case the browns deviated and took sanders. It’s still possible they want him but we’ll see

When I re-watched it, it was Beetle who said it, and Zo co-signed. He did make a face when one of those guys said what your saying on Schefter, as if to say Shefty was either wrong or full of ****. I think that we are in the silly season of draft moves now, and I really don't believe much of the reports, as everyone in the league is trying to deceive, inveigle and obfuscate.

Didn't the Guy just signed a ridiculous Contract last FA?? The Browns don't see a Red Flag??
I think the Browns have a great coaching staff but they are cursed at QB maybe from Bernie Kosar?

I agree with Schefter

1. Ward
2. Carter
3. Sanders
4. Hunter or a trade down for a huge haul.

I think the Patriots if we select Hunter at 4, use our third round pick to move back up in the 20s to select our tackle Connerly or Simmons.

I would love to take two tackles back to back and build a wall for Maye if Hunter is not there and we can trade down with a team desperate for Sanders.

No need to reach for a WR too early.
