As for Polk he is the definition of being a JAG..... Polk is 128th in Pro Football Focus' rankings, 128th in yards after the catch per reception, 127th in yards per route run and 126th (out of 126 receivers) at separation when targeted, per Next Gen Stats.
But you may be right he may not even be that good.

problem is, they basically had JAGs coaching the offense, and had less than a JAG running the team.......so the new guys last year almost all earn a pass, at least through training camp.......kind of hard to judge anything based on last year, it was such a mess.......makes the good looks Maye had even more impressive, honestly

Totally agree... I have said in other posts we need to give everyone a clean slate starting this year to really see how good or bad they may be.

I get it. I know he's talented, it's all the other **** I don't like about him.

I really thought the guy had it made in Buffalo... ascending team, young QB, and yet he couldn't keep his mouth shut. Really screwed himself IMO. I guess he wouldn't be the first WR to shoot himself out of town, and he won't be the last.

Like I said, I'll have to hold my nose. The combination of this guy with two young players really concerns me. Not the guy I want mentoring my young'ins.

And I know all the detractors will be happy to tell me the position is full of guys like him. I know. I know that's why Bill couldn't draft them. Diggs is everything wrong with today's NFL athlete. I don't think I can be less in love with a player than this guy. But Vrabel ain't Bill... so maybe.

Agreed. The team knows he's coming off and ACL.. if he's had dinner and he's taking a physical then there had to be talk of a contract..

Me too. If Vrabel is going this far to have a dinner and physical then it's a great sigh for us as fans.. yeah KB was on the trading block last year remember? I think KB wouldn't mind going back to SF.. so go figure diggs, ayuik, pop, Boutte as the primary guys next season. Then we trade down and take Campbell?

I’m willing to wait and see on Polk. Wolf obviously **** the bed with the trade down strategy (HATE that strategy) to select the lesser talent in Polk. Should’ve stayed put and drafted McConkey. The whole world could immediately see that was a massive mistake.

That being said, it’s too early to cut bait on Polk. Let’s see what he does with new coaching. Maybe he’ll make a Boutte-like jump in year 2.

My guess is they'll plan on 4 gameday active receivers. Boutte and Douglas are near-locks to be 2 of them because of these decent production last year and their youth. Ideally it would be as the 3rd or 4th guy.

Right now it's Bourne/Baker/Polk fighting for the other 2 spots. Based on how bad the latter 2 were next year, Bourne has the inside track for one of those spots. If they add a guy like Diggs through FA then he still has the inside track on the other open gameday spot. But a second acquisition would push him on the outside looking in.

The big issue for Bourne is that if he's not a key part of the gameday active receiver group, incentive to keep him goes down. You're not going to keep him as a gameday inactive over younger developmental guys.

TO was up there, Chad Johnson as well. Don’t remember them being as nuts as Brown though.

Yeah I will say this: Diggs can’t fairly be put in a Brown category. Brown is an unmitigated human piece of trash. Zero reports about Diggs being a bad PERSON. Just a typical WR diva which isn’t unusual. In fact, I recall when Demar Hamlin had his Cardiac Arrest, Diggs WALKED to the hospital to check in and be there for him right after the game.

Bad humans don’t do that.
