Stefon Diggs visiting Patriots

We desperately need a wr 1 who can help Drake. A healthy Diggs finally gives us a WR that teams have to account for when building their game plan. Also, having Diggs will help take some of the pressure off of a potential WR we may take at #4. I have no issue overpaying to make sure he doesn't leave without a deal. Time for Bob to take out his checkbook and get this deal done.
At age 32 coming off an ACL injury, I highly doubt he's that player this upcoming season. If he ever is that guy again, it's probably in 2026. Long history of receivers not matching their level of play in year 1 back from that type of injury.

He improves the WR room and still accomplishes some of what you're saying. I'd just caution that if you're seeing the name and thinking he'll come in and be that real "WR 1" presence, I think you're setting yourself up for disappointment.

Diggs is cancerous, but if the team could sign him to a two year contract he would be a stop game measure.

People forget how disruptive Moss was in early 2010. He gives BB a hard time about his contract. He rides TB12 on touches. In MIA he goes toe-to-toe with BOB and yells at Tom at 1/2 time. He knew he was getting phased out...just like Diggs did in BUF once Dorsey got fired.

Kinda sounds like diggs’ timeline. Pretty sure he was fine on both teams the first 2-3 years or so then things started to unravel and he got shipped out eventually. I would take 2 good years (maybe more like 1.5 since he’ll be likely getting back to speed for roughly half a season. He’ll be nearing the end either way 2 years from now

Hahaha.. Last time we had a WR with diva personona was:

This is Antonio Brown erasure. Though I don’t blame you for forgetting, he only lasted one game before he got sent packing.

Yep. It's clearly a pattern of behavior once he starts getting antsy about his contract. My guess is he is consumed by it and it effects his relationships with players and coaches and he lashes out. I get it. There are millions of dollars at stake but he takes it to a point teams just don't want to deal with anymore.

I'm supportive of him coming here as he is a bone-fide WR1 (aside from the ACL) but you have to wonder if he comes here on an incentive-laden deal will Vrabel need to put a collar on him if he isn't getting his catches, yards and TDs and starts giving Drake and Josh a hard time.

The incentive laden thing is going to be a problem for everyone based on this statement.

He is what he is, they gotta sign him first.

Yep.

Another thought is maybe they make his deal where 90% is fully-guaranteed. That way the crying for more touches is mitigated.

2yr $15m fully-guaranteed but can be up to $35m w/ roster bonuses and incentives..?

I do want him here but he has baggage.....

Antonio Brown wasn’t a diva…he was the alpha diva. In class all by himself.

TO was up there, Chad Johnson as well. Don’t remember them being as nuts as Brown though.

Honestly man, who knows more about what you said you or Andy?
You're being far too kind to Polk. Becoming a JAG would be a massive improvement. He's got miles to go before he even approaches the level of a JAG
Um who is Andy?

As for Polk he is the definition of being a JAG..... Polk is 128th in Pro Football Focus' rankings, 128th in yards after the catch per reception, 127th in yards per route run and 126th (out of 126 receivers) at separation when targeted, per Next Gen Stats.
But you may be right he may not even be that good.

I would prefer a speedy quick-strike weapon who demands safety help, which Diggs is not. May this year mark the start of our ability to draft and develop WRs. Amen.

problem is, they basically had JAGs coaching the offense, and had less than a JAG running the team.......so the new guys last year almost all earn a pass, at least through training camp.......kind of hard to judge anything based on last year, it was such a mess.......makes the good looks Maye had even more impressive, honestly
