Show the statistics and also make sure you include Evans playing with a Heisman trophy winning QB while T Mac played with a 5’8 friend whom he carried to college.
It’s NFL data, not sure they tracked that in his college day, I guess it’s possible he didn’t separate in college and then became top 5 some years in NFL but that would be an unusual outlier

Separation stats aren’t really related to the QB

I’m still holding out hope that one of Hunter or Carter is available at 4.

There will be a QB that will rise out of nowhere. All 3 of those teams that pick before NE are in dire need of a QB. If JaMarcus Russell can pull a #1 pick out of his ass, it's possible someone else can get to 2 or 3.

Not at all. He doesn’t resemble Harry at all in any tape I’ve studied. You must have PTSD
LOL. After the past five or six years, it's a safe bet all Pats' fans have PTSD. We are all waiting for the cavalry to come over the hill: some see the cavalry as bunch of fat guys; some see it as a bunch of fast guys (well, sorta) who can catch.

Phil Perry's latest take - or hope: it remains to be seen which it is - is that we get Hunter at 4, then trade up into the bottom of the first (I think it was) to grab a LT.

Though I think getting the o-line is a greater need than WR at this point in the rebuild, and this looks a little like a pipe dream to me, that's a deal I would take. Basically we are going to have to hope to get lucky with a lower pick at either OL or WR. This proposes that we pursue that hope re the OL. This reverses the priorities I would have, but it's not a terrible idea.

This isn't a top heavy draft. By your logic, if the most likely scenario of Ward/Hunter/Carter going top 3 plays out, nobody should pick at 4 because there's questions about anybody that is projected next. But somebody will have to pick at 4 and any team we try to trade with will low ball us for the exact same reason we would try to trade down.

You do not approach a draft in the context of every other draft in history. You see what the board is and approach it for what it is. If this was last year, the 4 pick would be double or triple the value it is this year because the team trading for it is getting either a top ranked QB OR a generational WR/OT prospect. This year they aren't.

So you are either picking somebody or trading down, losing them, settling for another guy in the top 10 that has question marks, and not getting any impressive return (maybe an extra 2nd).
Teams will reach for QB’s, that’s a universal truth.

You grade prospects based on every other rookie prospect in history, or at least the last couple decades. You don’t take a B- wide receiver in the first round simply because it’s your biggest need. There will always be an A+ player sitting there at #4 even if it’s at a lesser position of need.

If you can’t trade back, then take the best player available. Is Tet that? Having barely evaluated this class, I’d say no.

Drew Henson and Brady went to the same school with similar traits but sure beyond that no similarities
Beyond his height at the position what stood out about Tet from the combine and pro day to you?

If it’s the option between reaching for a WR out of desperation or taking an OT or DT with blue chip measurables and stats… I’m taking the trench player no question.

I’ll cover my bases later by throwing multiple mid round picks at WR, those guys are found in every round.

Tet’s not fast.

His 4.5 forty stood out.

I don't why people keep dreaming about blue chips. There are only 2 in this draft if QBs allow one to last until 4 then we know what we're doing.

I'm sure there will be a few guys who with hindsight maybe should have been and the job at 4 is to find the best of the rest. So there is no scenario where they pass up a blue chip prospect to take instead take Tet.

As this relates to Campbell or even Graham I took them off my wishlist because of their measurements but I'd be happy to learn that Vrabel thinks their so talented it's worth ignoring the measurables.

I'm actually thinking I might want to cover my bases to and take Tet and then turnaround and take Higgins in the 2nd too.

So how bout them apples lol

His forty was not “stand out,” that’s not fast, it’s not slow… it’s pretty average for the position group. The fact he didn’t work out any other measurables wasn’t ideal.

You take blue chip athletes in the first round or you trade back. If there is no blue chip WR because Hunter is off the board, you take another position or trade back. Don’t reach…. most important don’t be what you are now or what Wolf was last year after he drafted Maye… obsessed with shiny hood ornaments.

Graham didn’t workout, he’s an OLB with a bum foot… I don’t want him and the position is not a need.

Campbell is a blue chip athlete, his measurables were superb. His arm length isn’t ideal for the tackle position but he’s still a blue chip athlete. I don’t necessarily want him because I want them to take a blue chip player at a position of need and I don’t know if he’s better than the next few tackles behind him.

Fans hear somebody say “weak draft” then parrot the same thing over and over… there are always great players to be found.

I asked AI it said 40 yards at 4.48 vs 4.53 would be 1.33 feet different.
Yup, AI is correct. I was computing feet/inches vs. yards in my head.

Interesting...16 inches or roughly 4 inches per sec difference between 4.48/4.53....

What happened to Graham’s foot?

I’ve found after years of staring at off-season data that pro day forties are roughly .02 seconds faster than combine numbers.

He’s 4.5 forty fast. Good speed, but nothing special.
