What’s our plan at Wide Receiver?

I was caught off guard when he started getting a lot of hype during his draft season
Yeah Watson got a big boost from his performance at the Senior Bowl. He was under the radar a bit as a late declare who played at a Division 1 FCS school (the subdivision below FBS). He flashed some big time WR1 potential in the second half of his rookie season, but has failed to put it together in the two seasons since then. He is probably just a more injury-prone Marquez Valdes-Scantling type.

So at this point I see one of three possibilities:

1. We are waiting for the price to come down on one of the remaining over-the-hill free agent WRs
2. We are done for now until the draft and will maybe re-evaluate trades after
3. We are currently working on a trade for someone like Aiyuk

What does everyone think? I suspect 2.

****! Just saw the tee news. So guess aiyuk is the last trade option for now.

Olave might become available if the saints take mcmillan but hes a risk with the concussions.

Not looking good at all on the wr front unless hunter falls to us or we can land a 2nd tier guy that hits and we all know how that story has gone here in rd 2.

Possibly also Hooper, Davis, Spillane, and Landry. Williams could be, if his performance in the coming season validates the deal he got based on his stepping up a level last season.
Agreed. Landry I'll say this.. guy came in off vacation with his family.. came into the facility to meet the coaching staff and front office people in person when signing his deal. I have a cousin in Nashville who's a big Titans fan. He was telling me how good a guy Landry I'd especially in the community. Spillane love his game he's a heat seeking missile...Williams is a beast.. can stuff the run and rush the passer. Davis is a long, physical, press man corner who the defense hasn't had since Brandon browner.

I think you're right and it's 2, but they may also have enough talks with the 49ers on 3 that they can make the trade with the 49ers during the trade if they want.

I think Cooper is the best option if we still want a vet FA.
He's still very productive, and quietly capable. He could take the WR X role better than who we have now.
If we're not going to trade for a better receiver, he probably makes the most sense.

I agree.. even though Cooper is not the guy he was say in LV or Dallas he still can help Drake and the offense.. not sure why we aren't In on him...

It's puzzling Mike... why do you think we haven't been in on Cooper? Buffalo isn't going to sign him.. he's out there.. he would be better valued here than anywhere. Adding at least someone of his caliber helps this offense tremendously.

A couple of options: 1) We think we can do better, 2) He wants too much money, 3) We're waiting for the draft to see what the team is looking like and we're not worried that he'll get signed before then.

Some say A Cooper is cooked.

I'm leaning towards a combination of Jack Bech - Jayden Higgin and Tre Hartries.

Very interesting I'll say... Cooper has been a great player in this league.. he still has some game left.. having him would give us at least someone DCs need to keep an eye on... money really shouldn't be an issue with us.. a 2y/24 million deal for Cooper shouldn't be unattainable if offered.. or sign diggs.. but Drake won't have him until October... or trade for ayuik.. Drake won't have him until October either..
