One general thought: I think next year, at a minimum, this should be broken up into at least two or three threads. For example, this year could've been set up as OL, rest of offense, defense. I get that the threads will spill over some, but I think that's better than the alternative: as someone asked years ago, "Why have constructive threads focused on individual players when you can just glom them all together into one massive, direction-less blob?"

Try watching that film. It's all of Tets snaps vs Colorado. He is very slow off the snap. He has zero suddenness and gets most of his catches out of the slot underneath vs zone coverage.

Nothing about that film shows a guy that can be a #1 WR against NFL CBs. That is not a guy you take #4 overall.

I am not a King Tet guy anymore, but in his defense some coaches ask they're WRs to slow roll off the line and then explode into their cuts.

I dont know if that applies here but it may not necessarily be on Tet

They just had a graphic saying the Pats still have 93 millions in "effective" cap space.

Yeesh.

It's believed he's going to the Browns.
Think they'd need ATL to eat a considerable chunk of money. I hope they can't work out the details and the deal gets stuck in the mud. That along with a Rodgers retirement would be ideal going into the draft.

I think it would be too hard to expect everyone who posts here to honor the purpose of those threads with such criteria.

Vrabel doing a presser right now. Pretty good overall so far. You realize just how much like Bill he is, but very much has his own method to the madness.
I really came around on the value of coaching after seeing what a mess Mayo made of the team. I was pulling hard for him and lost sight of things.

Vrabel is a great choice. The fact that he has HC experience and was a star among stars when he played gives him serious cred.

The 2025 Pats already have a better feel and they still have possibly more FA's and the draft coming. If Maye turns out to be the real deal the sky's the limit.

Absolutely spot on! I for one didn't take into full account just how much coaching matters in the NFL. I never want to relive a season like 2024. Each time Vrabel speaks the guys exudes confidence, direction and untilmate leadership.

The fact landry came off his vacation with his family.. came into the facility to meet coaches, players and front office staff shows his commitment as a player and leader. It shows what type of players Vrabel wants.

Plus. This is an amazingly well run site. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

You’re right about we do have crap here at WR. It’s a shame some posters here on the forum are actually satisfied with this WR corps for a developing rookie QB. I just want to add talent to this dumpster of a unit. I feel bad for Maye.
I don't think anyone is satisfied with our WR room, but it is not as big of a need as OL and that is what you seem to be missing.

If Maye has time he will get the ball to someone downfield. If Maye has no time or has to break pocket quick to avoid pressure it doesn't matter who is downfield. The offense cannot be built around the scramble drill.

Agreed. I was on the Mayo train after week 1. Thought they really had something..and then he wheels fell off. This team as you said, feels like a real team, with real adults in charge. I don't know if thats even more glaring because of what just happened last year, but it feels much better.

This also doesn't feel like a staff that will screw Maye up with the coaching change. I think he will actually take off now and be the top 5 guy a lot of us feel he will be. I also have for some strange reason think that Polk and Baker will be much, much better this season. Thats last part is probably grade A crazy but can't shake the feeling.

It's not given the level of focus that it needs to be! They need to trade every freakin asset for AJ Brown! They need to have a 53 man roster full of WRs! WHY WON'T ANYONE LISTEN TO ME!!!

With Polk/Baker - they have multiple OC-level guys in the room coaching them. McDaniels OC, Todd Downing WRs coach who was previously an OC, Thomas Brown pass game coordinator who was previously an OC. A lot of experienced coaching all giving them feedback.

Plus, McDaniels' system routinely squeezed production out of lesser talents, and those two guys have talent. If they can take the coaching and grasp the system then they should at minimum be productive, and potentially be solid starters. If they can't, they'll probably get traded.
