Sign some value vets, 2 or 3 of them if need be. Draft a OT or two… take multiple bites at the apple.

I don’t get the consternation over not being able to overpay a 30 year old OT.
And the Word Of The Day Boys and Girls is: Consternation. Nicely done Wozzy! I must admit that I do like dropping those $50 Words on occasion when appropriate. It's refreshing.

I posted in the other thread - an idea for a not-too-expensive new starting setup:

LT - Dan Moore
LG - Teven Jenkins
C - Drew Dalman
RG - Mike Onwenu
RT - Morgan Moses

Shouldn’t tie up too much cap short or long term. Moses is insurance in case Wallace can’t secure the starting RT job. The group should suffice for a few years, assuming Wallace takes RT job. Goal would be to draft and develop replacements for most of these guys over time.
Patrick Mekari? And, I read in his Pre-Draft Profile last year that Wallace was pegged as being a better fit at RG. Food for thought. I do think that Jenkins and Dalman would immediately improve the middle of the OL.

That’s not surprising, what’s surprising is guys not pushing the envelope by getting more bidders, which has generally been the way agents deal with teams.
Players who are making megabucks and are having successful careers with their current teams sometimes have little interest in earning a couple of million a year more and playing for another team and learning new systems and working with a new organization and living in a new city.

Sometimes it is enough for players If their current team will come up with enough money and have a good enough environment so that they and their children will have enough money for their entire lives.

I've been feeling a little backed up the last day or two. Been hoping to avoid the castor oil.

Should be clear as crystal to all now, that Left Tackle, even if Plan B - Cam Robinson - signs here, has become our #1 draft priority, above all other positions. And ONLY after At Least one trade-down of significance.

Yeah, and the Pats are the only guilty ones.

NESN is embellishing that "report" by Breer. They're intentionally using their headline in a way to imply the Pats are under investigation so that fans will open and comment on how Goodell is the devil. Don't fall for their nonsense.

I looked at other NFL reporting sources, and NESN (Hacks) was the only outlet to report this. It also says that two other teams were involved, one being Kansas City. This seems like someone is trying to stir the pot.

I saw a tweet that it was KC and Wash?
Yes.
NESN has that info in the linked article.
That is why I did not post a separate thread on this.
Chiefs involvement = no issue.
The Pats alone and prepare to lose draft picks.

History would suggest you're correct. However, this is something that the NFL (because KC and Washington are involved), will bury. If there's anything really there, punishing the Patriots and giving a slap on the wrist or nothing at all to the other two teams would give Kraft a great deal of legal ammo to tear the NFL a new bunghole (to the point of possible Congressional Investigation).
