They can do that but still
Have

A lot easier to do when you are wealthy from a successful business or companies you have started. When you are a pay check employee, you can get creative, but no where near when you have a large amount of assets and business spread out.

Not to mention, these same accounting tricks can be used in the states with low income
Taxes, negating most gain you may be hinting at.
But you can be both. S corp and LLC/P "losses" flow through to your personal taxes to offset your w2 income. Also at the level these guys are at it's relatively easy to purchase into tax loss LLCs for significantly less than your tax bill.

Your first sentence (easier to do when wealthy) is true but doesn't need to be restricted by being a pay check employee.

I think Williams jumped on what seemed like a big offer, but since this period is technically only "verbal agreements" for 48 hours, other teams still have a chance to blow him out of the water with a different offer. He must've gotten wind of something far more enticing than what he first pounced on.

In contractual law, verbally agreeing to an offer can be disputed in the same way as if the contract was signed on paper. Same thing with a handshake. Even if the official contract is for a future date. Now I highly doubt that CAR would actually take legal action, but it’s highly frowned upon in the NFL and business world alike.

Im not sure they record the calls, but at the very least. It would be a terrible look on Him and his agent to back out.

Now that’s barring the rumors of him
Agreeing are even true. Shefter usually doesn’t get this stuff wrong.

Not sure if anyone else has noticed this, but no other team in the AFCE has signed a free agent.
Well the Jets are going to sign Justin Fields apparently, so that's one, but yeah. I expected Miami to be really active.

No. I've watched him during the Tampa days and then Detroit. He wasn't good. If he was, Tampa and Detroit wouldn't have let him walk. Him, Murphy-Bunting and Jamel Dean were big reasons why the defense dropped off and Brady's Bucs lost to the Rams and flamed out the following year.

It's quite comical I'm getting resistance over this. But then again, I got the same resistance last off-season, but then you guys complain how bad the FA signings were. Par for the course.

Feel free to bookmark this.
Comical that you’re getting resistance? The guy is universally praised by national pundits, and had multiple teams offer him big money deals, but your expectation is that the whole world shares your opinion that he sucks at football. If he sucks with the Pats, take your victory lap. But your opinion is the extreme minority, not the consensus.

Moses is old but he's probably better than the Moores.

Now find a LT so we can all start agreeing on Hunter/Carter.

Get this defense one more pass rusher off the edge and barmore back / move keion inside with your new edge threats this defense is back imo
