Mainly due to some draft expert saying Pickens would be either arrested by mid season or be one of the best WRs mid season.

Also I saw Thornton say he modeled his game after Davante Adams’s and Tyreek Hill.
He should have modeled his anvil hands after them.

Getting Williams Davis and Godwin would be crazy. Let’s add Sweat and a lineman or two into there.

I would be all over that unlike most Patsfans... George Pickens is a Contested Football Catcher. I would drive the bus or fly the plane to go get him: he's just as good or better than Tee Higgins.

Mike Vrabel wants to build a culture not destroy it before it even started. He is looking for high character guys.

Yes. Regardless of how you feel about Polk, it’s definitely better that they picked up an extra pick and still got him as opposed to taking him with the original pick.
I think you are missing the point. The only reason they picked up an extra pick is because no other team wanted Polk (because we were overdrafting him).

A team can only trade down to get extra picks PLUS get their original targeted pick if no other team is targeting that pick. If only one out of 32 teams is targeting a player there is a high chance that player is being over drafted like when we traded down for Strange.

The original post was making the case that trading down before over drafting players is not a good strategy because it means we think we are smarter than the other 31 teams by seeing talent they have missed. Why not pick guys that other teams want to?

Well if Higgins is franchised then they won’t be able to avoid trading for him. Unless there’s something I’m missing

While McConkey should have been the pick but the Pats traded out, Polk was somewhat of a reach but if I recall Polk was supposed to go late 2nd and he went where he went. Not the craziest reach this organization has ever made.
We are judging draft picks on the "crazy reach" scale? As long as our draft picks are not too much of a crazy reach than that is a positive?

I see people are hung up on moving a Second Rounder for Tee Higgins. How about a Third this year and next for his rights??

Godwin and a couple of big dudes. Today would be good.

With Drake Maye's Excellent ball placement I am sure George Pickens will be happy. We can't have all Choir Boys: l hope Vrabel is different from BB in that sense.
Didn't Vrabel say culture was the number one criteria?

Right... they would have been overdrafting him at their original draft slot... so they traded down and got an extra pick.

It only matters if either player works out. If not, then they wasted two picks instead of just one.
