Offseason player acquisition thread

The 49ers can have him. Maybe playing with his brother will keep him on the field for the entire season, but I tend to doubt it.

Thanks for the glimpse into my possible future.

Here is my present as of 30 seconds ago:
I remember those days. Mine are teens now and I’m the one who wants a nap in the car.

I suspect that SF will get enough out of him to justify the contract that they sign with him.

It may very well be that Pats and 49ers perceptions of Ayuk's value are not reconcilable.
His knee is mush. We CANNOT give them anywhere near the deal that was on the table last year.

Plays tall at 6’6,” not overly strong or really athletic… there’s better guards available.
I won’t pretend to be the authority on guard play in the NFL but the experts for what it’s worth think incredibly highly of him, he’s 26 and fills an absolute need.

Haven’t really thought much about Jaylon Moore but he is an intriguing prospect. Only really kept off the field because he had an All-World LT ahead of him. The question becomes if his encouraging performance in its limited sample size would hold up as a full time starter. With Dan Moore, you kinda know what you’re gonna get - pretty solid, especially when the QB isn’t Russell Wilson.

As far as paying a deal in the mid-teens APY - perfectly fine with me, I was worried it’d be even worse.

Membou played well in the SEC and I have always seen Membou in the Top 3 tackles discussion. But Membou was a RT in college so there is the question mark if he can play LT.
Getting Membou and hoping to flip him eventually to LT is just a repeat of Wallace. Would rather take a legit LT Prospect after the 2nd Round to develop.

Only if we sign a decent stopgap OT in FA
Simmons may need a little time to heal properly.
I think he is the best OT in this draft.
If he looks good at his Pro Day then trade down and grab him
If we made that hypothetical deal with Seattle for their 1st (#18), their 2nd, Metcalf, and a 2nd next year, we could possibly get Simmons at #18.

We're in our Gap years. Both boys out of the house with their own homes and no Grandchildren yet. One will call and be like hey were coming over and I'm like that's great but we're in Malta this week.

Josh Simmons will be the best LT from this draft. Do what you can to trade down to 8ish and take Simmons.
Get a Cam Robinson for this year and a Simmons on the mend and I feel like we actually have a plan.

Get Fries and Jaylon Moore, and draft Campbell or Membou. Then trade for Jack Conklin.

I like it but I have not seen any updates about Fries injury. He had surgery for a fractured Tibia and I don't know how he is doing. I like the player though

If the feeling that 2 QBs will be taken in the top 3 holds up, then that means one of Hunter or Carter will fall to pick 4. You will most likely be able to find a team willing to trade up for one of them, even if you don’t get a stellar return: let’s say Hunter falls - the Saints may be willing to come up from 9 for him, in exchange for their two 3rd rounders. Then you take Simmons at 9, and you have your 2nd and three 3rds, which allows you to pick up a lot of guys in the area of the draft that’s probably the best value.
