I personally don't want Hunter, he played against punks that will be sorting mail and stocking shelves next year, if they are lucky.
NoThanks

This is likely!
Aiyuk refused trade to Patriots last year
DM said he does not like Boston
Hard to believe either wants to be here

Trading for players that don’t want to play here is a terrible idea, especially on a young team where you are trying to build a team first culture.

I feel like today we should start hearing some real legitimate news when it comes to who’s going where.

Was thinking and hoping for exactly the same.
I would say if AJ wants to be here to whatever it takes without losing 4 to get him.

They would definitely take him, I just have a hard time seeing him fall to 4, unless two QBs go in the top three. It’s been said that the Browns will “definitely take one” and we all know that Ward is probably going #1 overall, so that must mean the Browns take Sanders or maybe someone else like Dart or Ewers? The other question being whether the Titans themselves take Ward at #1 or some other team like the Giants trades up for him.

And then if the Pats do snag Hunter, do they view him primarily as a corner with WR package plays, or primarily as a WR who plays defense in certain situations? I think it’s been said that they view Hunter as the best WR in the draft so I would guess it’s the latter, since they need WR.

I think they would play him primarily as a WR, with some packages playing him as a defensive back. The player comparisons for him are as good as they get, Champ Bailey, Justin Jefferson, etc etc…. He would be a great pick if he falls to 4.

Not necessarily - the free agents can’t sign deals until Monday (unless they extend with their current team), so all you might hear about are trades. I can see some teams wanting to get trades done before free agency to clear cap space, but in many of those cases they may also just cut those players if nothing gets done. If there’s no cap space on the line then there’s no rush.

Big trades will be happening between now and Monday.

Actually it’s the 12th. Monday is the beginning of legal tampering.

Agree. The rubber meets the road Monday, the start of legal tampering, so all of the feints from teams about allowing players to seek trades will be ending, and teams will have to start releasing them to free up cap space. And if the Patriots are truly interested in a guy like Cooper Kupp they will have to get a trade done with L.A., as his options open up completely once he hits free agency.

With the Raiders trading for Geno there is a line of thinking that they know Sanders wasn't going to last so the jumped on another option.

It could be that they just don't like Sanders. It could be they want both with Geno as the starter until Sanders is ready. Or it could be unrelated.

Since I'm all for Carter or Hunter I choose to believe the Raiders have an idea the QBs won't last. One of these 2 are ours.

I could understand using his playing competition against him in a tie breaker scenario if other prospects were being touted as highly but from just about everyone's opinion there is a pretty steep drop off and you are taking a significantly less prospect if you pass on Hunter. (Except Carter)

thinking like the Giants they have to take Hunter, they got so much crap for letting Barkley go they need to electrify the fan base.
I don’t think Sanders does that.

That is true of most college players....something like 1.5% of college players make the next step.

Making draft decisions to make fans happy is the best way to make sure your team sucks forever.

And by that logic any prospect who didn’t play in the SEC isn’t worth taking.

Like your thinking Ross

Would love to be a car salesman with about 75% of this board
I could sell them a yellow YUGO for 150% over sticker and they would be thanking me
I once sold a green Porsche 356, the floorboard was rotting out, the car was in rough shape. I was going to get a $1000 bonus if I sold it. I really tried hard not to sell it because I was afraid of the consequences, I thought someone would fall through the floor. Well one day this construction worker comes in he must have been bigger than Vince and he wouldn't listen to me all my arguments were for naught.

He bought the car drove off happy as a clam. A week later I go back to the service and I see his car it's a wreck and I am dreading facing him. When I find him in the area he's looking very sheepish as I ask him what happened not what I expected. He tells me he was visiting his girlfriend and when he came out and got in his car his wife came out of nowhere and laid in to him. I kid you not I met her there later that week she wasn't more than 5'1" 110 pounds soaking wet, but when she said something he was like yes ma'am.

I have to admit I didn't like selling that car to him, but we became good friends and he got a better Porsche out of it. Just shows even when you don't want to sell a car to someone if their heart is set on it there is nothing you can do.

Yeah, being in the SEC helps, but even then only like 8% make the NFL ..still alot of "punks that will be sorting mail and stocking shelves next year"

It’s true that only a fraction of college players make it in the Pro’s, but if the standard is that the best player in the country, and one if the best in college history, isn’t worth a high choice because he played at Colorado then the whole enterprise is basically meaningless.

Travis Hunter is an exceptional player and prospect, and he’s of the highest character. If he’s not worth a high pick then no one is.
