We having a hard time finalizing a Trade for the injured Aiyuk...I find that very hard to believe: nobody is beating the 49ers door down in this scenario.
Not sure if I believe the source
If it does have some truth to it it could mean
That neither player wants to sign an extension which would have to be done to finalize the deal
My guess. Total BS
Edit: Aiyuk already has a multi year deal
DK does not
So disregard lol

I think neither player wants to end up here, trade compensation I believe isn’t the issue, trouble is getting players onboard.

What if it’s Milton and a third for DK?
Which would explain trading Geno.

I mis spoke when I said they both did not want an extension
That would be true for DK but not Aiyuk since he already has a multi year contract
But Aiyuk deal could regard SF wanting too much for compensation
DK nit wanting to be here as he stated

This is likely!
Aiyuk refused trade to Patriots last year
DM said he does not like Boston
Hard to believe either wants to be here

Glad that the rumor mill is picking up. I was resigned to them not adding a difference maker in free agency at receiver, so all these rumors have been welcome.

It does also seem like there will be some quality veterans released that could make the free agent class look better.

I spent a fair while reading other teams reddits, here are their fans/reporters general consensus:

TEN - Seem set on Ward
CLE - Seem set on taking a QB, so Sanders. Though Carter is tempting given Garrett leaving.
NYG - Their fans want Ward, but hate the idea of Sanders - they know they won't get Ward without a trade up, so they want Rodgers/Wilson as FA and to draft Travis Hunter.

The other talked about scenario was TEN trading with NYG, but then it would still be Ward, Sanders, Hunter, Carter.

Las Vegas also probably know this which is why they just traded for Geno - they know they won't have a shot at a QB in R1 of this draft and/or they rate Geno higher than the 2 on offer.

Aiyuk specifically refused the trade because of the unsettled QB position.....doesn't mean he would be ok with it this year, but it also doesn't matter; he already has a new contract and he doesn't have a NTC.

If the Patriots are trying to trade for him, the hold up is his health, and the compensation for the 49ers

We could pay Stanley 3/63M with a void year, Teven Jenkins 3/41M, Murphy 4/92M with a void year, Godwin 3/66M with a void, Jevon Holland 4/75M with a void, Jamien Sherwood 5/41M, and Milton Williams 4/80M with a void year and still have 35M left, so they could sign some several very good players and still have a ton of money left.

The Pats are not going to sign 5-6 top of the market guys. First, it never happens. Second, other teams have plenty of money and will out bid the Patriots and/or the player would rather sign with them.

It isn't like the Patriots have $140 million and everyone else has $20 million or less. Other teams have north of a $100 million in cap space and don't have a #1 CB and are looking to find one in free agency.

Something tells me I could live the this cap space breakdown!

I'm sorry, you are correct. I forgot who we were discussing.
No worries, I know we was released yesterday. I hope by Monday he's a patriots... let's face it we are desperately waiting for our team to do something.

They would definitely take him, I just have a hard time seeing him fall to 4, unless two QBs go in the top three. It’s been said that the Browns will “definitely take one” and we all know that Ward is probably going #1 overall, so that must mean the Browns take Sanders or maybe someone else like Dart or Ewers? The other question being whether the Titans themselves take Ward at #1 or some other team like the Giants trades up for him.

And then if the Pats do snag Hunter, do they view him primarily as a corner with WR package plays, or primarily as a WR who plays defense in certain situations? I think it’s been said that they view Hunter as the best WR in the draft so I would guess it’s the latter, since they need WR.
