Milton Williams is Meh if you ask me. I don't see the need in throwing a bag at him in a loaded DT class.

However deep the class might be there's no one I want at 4 as a DT and who knows what will be there when 38 comes back around. Fill the need now and use those picks elsewhere.

I'm open to spending the money any way and any position we can.

Instead of a joke I'll tell a story:

A good friend of mine was eating at the bar and happened to notice Bobby Brown was a few stools over. This was flip phone days and personal ring tones were the rage. My buddy quietly changes his ring tone to Every Little Step and then has the other guy he was with call his phone.

Brown responded something like you got to be kidding me and everyone got a laugh.

I think it’s more a credit to how good Philly is that their backups are earning that much. That is, assuming, that $20M is his market rate and not just what a huge overpay that it would take for the Pats to sign him.

Don’t agree, it shows how well the Eagles have done team building.

He’s 25 years old, the same age as some draftees. He is an ascending player and a strong great athlete.

He’s not Jalen Carter who can play inside on rushing downs, he’s more DE/DT tweener like Keion White. Play him at DE on early downs and move him around on passing downs.

They need Barmore back for that inside role, they should also sign or draft another similar DT… but we need to supercharge our pass rush and team speed.

You guys are making my point for me kind of. I'm not saying he isn't an ascending player, that he'd be a bad signing. It's like you guys are saying about it being a credit to PHI's team building that they had this kind of depth.

Only one team wins the SB each year so you have to be the best, or close enough to it to get some breaks. If we sign Milton, he becomes what? Our 3rd best player? For the team that just won the SB he was their 3rd best defensive lineman. It just puts into perspective how much talent we have to accumulate to get on that level.

He's been a stud for a while on the DL.. he does all the grunt work and allows others to make plays.

What about Poona Ford of the Chargers to go with Milton? He will be a free agent and is more a run stopper than pass rusher, he’s 29 years old and had 39 tackles this past season. I’m not sure what he will be looking for.

All of the Pats podcast guys that were in Indy for the combine say the same thing, Milton is one of the priorities.

Athletically and strength wise he's a stud. He's played well so far, he's young.

There's a tool for every job. They can always use more pass rush and another defensive end opposite Keion White.
