Ashton Jeanty at #4

You know what, I can kind of get behind it. I might even be fine with TE Tyler Warren out of PSU. Get elite players. You'll get a lot more mileage out of these guys plus an average line stocked via free agency and round 2/3 draft picks than you would with their alternatives plus trading down for an LT, or reaching for one at #4.
If given the choice between Jeanty and Tyler Warren at #4, I'd absolutely take Warren.

Who else initially read it as Alshon Jeffrey?

If Warren is Gronk2 I’m down with it.

No way would I take a RB this high for a team with so many needs lol

Why is that Jeanty seems to be taking a hit since the season ended?

He got so much hype during the year and if I remember correctly only Barry has more single season rushing yards than him.

I can fall in line with this being a passing league and that 4 is too high to pick RB but he seems like he should be considered far and above the best back in the draft. What am I missing?

Didn’t play the toughest competition and was held in check in the playoff game vs Penn st.

Now imo he’s gonna be a really good back in this league but him not having his usually 200+ yrd multiple td game when the competition increased played a part in him taking a hit.

I saw no, but I like the idea of drafting him. A stud RB can help a stud QB a metric ton. Trade back a bit and snag him?

There's not really a WR worth taking that high, but Warren is so good. I could just see him out there as the true in-line TE and Hunter Henry shifting over to a "move" TE type role, or lining up in the slot... that could be pretty potent.

100 yards vs a pretty good Penn D

Sure! In fact, Warren could be a #1 Like weapon for Maye in the passing game much like Gronk was for Brady and Kelce for Mahomes. Only unlike Kelce, Warren is actually already a decent blocker, who'll only get better. He'll do as a weapon until they can add legit #1 and #2 WR's, which will make Warren even more dangerous. I'd take him at #6 in a trade-back. And in fact, I'd take him at #4. How many teams would have taken Gronk not only in the 1st Round after the fact, but in the Top 5? My guess would be quite a few.

I could see an offense with him in-line, Hunter Henry as a "big slot", Boutte as the X and Cooper Kupp as the Z. A lot of pretty good sized dudes who can also all block well. Teams would need to respect the two TEs which creates openings for Kupp. Work in Pop Douglas here and there.

Honestly this is where I get a little lost trying to project guys to the pros. I generally do lean toward the big programs like Georgia and LSU because it's easier to project them to the pros but there are plenty of good players that come from all over. I suppose they don't typically go 4 but they also don't typically rush for 2600.

Funny thing is I don't really want him that much but the more I look at guys not named Hunter or Carter the more I just want to circle back to Tet or Jeanty (& Jeanty seems more legit of the 2). I fully admit they are shiny toys but I don't really want a short armed LT or a light heavyweight DT.

If it's not Hunter or Carter my short list is Will Johnson, Jeanty, or Tet. With Campbell a close 4th mostly due to need.
I’m right there with you. Just not much depth this year in the “generational player” department so it’s hard to point to anyone and be pumped about taking him at 4.

Hopefully 2 QBs go and we get Hunter or Carter but as a consultation we get our pick of the rest so just got to make sure we get the right 1.

Man that would be awesome but it is NOT looking good for Shedeur. Though…we do have to remember this is “liar season” where GM’s will throw all kinds of BS out there to misdirect

Nah... We should just punt on Campbell if there are no better players. He will at least be a decent all pro guard.

He’s incredible but when you have so many needs to fill taking a RB at #4 seems really silly. It’s a position where you hope he makes it to 28 before falling off

Salary for number 4 pick is 9.5 million a year and that's close to bordering Barkley level. No way you take a RB with 4th pick .
