Pros
- still a top WR, high end #2 at worst
- unlikely to come to NE as a free agent
- brings credibility to team, he is a star and well respected across the league
- won’t take much and late round draft picks are basically useless
- Pats have the money
- if Higgins gets tagged the free agent WR market is junk
- history of high level performance in cold weather (Green Bay)

Cons
- huge cap
- getting older

Maybe try a trade and contract redo,

I don’t see any reason he wouldn’t just force his way to free agency by refusing to restructure as part of a trade.

The Jets will cut him and eat that $8 Mill Dead cap pass also too old.

no team is going to touch that contract when they just said "if we can't trade him... ".

i mean really, per otc his base salary is 35 million dollars in 25 & 26... lol... i get that there are a lot of stupid people in football, but surely no one is that stupid

The Jets are going to cut him. He isn't what he was, but still has something left. But I am not sure if he would play for McDaniels again (Tom Curran claims that isn't an issue) and he wants to either be on the West Coast or play with Aaron Rodgers or Derrick Carr. So I am not sure the Pats will even be in the running for his services if they are interested.

Personally, I would sign him if he is cut. Just don't think the Pats will have an opportunity.

He hates McDanieks. They would have to repair relationship.

He going back to Green Bay.

He’s cooked and makes way too much. Avoid like the plague.

He isn't what he was in his prime, but he isn't cooked. He did have over 1,000 yards and 8 TDs in 14 games played with not exactly great QB talent throwing to him. Rodgers is clearly not close to what he was and Garner Minshew is a back up thrusted into a starter role.

According to Tom Curran, Adams wouldn't have a problem playing for McDaniel again. I don't know who his source is but he seems to say it as if it comes from a solid source.

85 catches for over 1000 yds and 8 TDs for two ****ty teams is not cooked.

With the current state of our WR room we shouldn't poo-poo anyone.

With that said I'd wait for him to be cut.

Empty yards. He doesn’t provide the same impact he once did. He’s standing on the DeAndre Hopkins cliff.

He’ll go to a contender paying the highest amount anyways. Pats need to learn to draft a WR.

You don't get empty yards and TDs in the NFL without being a good player.

Of course he isn't what he was 5 years ago. Who cares. Draft a WR but you need a vet or two that can be that stop-gap

I think he would probably prefer to be traded and keep that massive salary. No one is gonna pay him that salary in free agency. That said, perhaps a few teams might pay him the equivalent amount in a signing bonus spread across 2-3 years.

I don't get how they are empty yards. Yards are yards unless they come in garbage time which I don't think is necessarily the case.

And I said he isn't the player he once was and I said odds are good the Pats aren't getting him even if they want him since he has a desire to play on the West Coast and/or with Rodgers.

I am just contradicting your opinion that he is toast. And at this point, it is an opinion.

No way I want to take that salary and he wouldn't be my first choice but if he's cut I think you have to consider it. We pretty much have to consider anything.

D-Hop this year for KC was the definition of cooked. Thats what toast looks like.

I don't think he liked playing in McDaniels scheme. Although his comments could've just been speaking to how he felt the team had a hard time, and not himself, it read as if he was happy to be out of his scheme.
