Once again, Ted Wells is proved to be a lying shill for the NFL...

Not even lying that the Deflategate was a landmark in my life. Then I had the very obvious epiphany that, truly, the one with the bigger gun makes the rules
There’s also many sayings that ultimately the truth comes out. Deflategate is black mark on Goodell’s legacy; only the most deranged Brady haters will actually mention it nowadays as a serious knock against Brady. It’s basically just a plot element to 28-3.

You mean to tell me that Ted Wells - who hired Exponent, the "science" firm that argued on behalf of Big Tobacco that second hand smoke does not cause cancer, and that asbestos and other toxic waste caused zero health issues, was biased?

Shocking news.

The other 31 owners collectively decided to have their frontman (Goodell) find the Patriots guilty, by any means possible.
Goodell hired Wells, giving him his marching orders, based on what the others that paid his salary told him to do.
He is a mercenary.

Wells went cartoonishly out of his way by hiring the most biased firm he could find, Exponent.
It was reverse engineering; start with a guilty verdict, and work your way backwards with propped up "experts" to support the accusation.

Ted Wells has absolutely zero credibility.
He doesn't deserve to be listened to by anybody, anywhere, regardless of whatever position he takes on any issue.
He is a complete waste of oxygen, and a complete waste of our time and thoughts.

Fun fact: Ted Wells = Jets fan, which pretty much tracks with your last paragraph.

Out of this whole crock of ****, what is most disturbing is two of the three judges sitting on the the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals overruled Berman's ruling to vacate the suspension. Their own boss even issued a dissent against their reinstatement of the suspension. Jesus.

Here it is almost 10 years later and I still can't get over that. That happens like...almost never.

Sometimes I wonder if I would stick around in this sport if Brady didn't turn the narrative almost immediately. I was SICK when the first reports came in, and even sicker when it became clear it was a witch hunt

Fun fact, I was in club in Copacabana, Rio when the my cellphone started to explode with Pats notification. I remember it vividly

I basically stopped "clubbing" and started hanging out in smokers balcony, while frenetically refreshing here, in this Forum, for the whole night, while my friends were having fun in the Carioca night

This is basically Ted Wells job....

NFL: Hey Ted we have this controversy can you investigate?

Ted: Sure what do you want me find?

NFL: Exactly Whatever increases revenue

Defamegate changed my relationship with the NFL forever. It came at a time when I was beginning a very aggressive deployment tempo with the Army, so my viewing time was limited compared to before. All I had time for and wanted to see was the Pats, and I wanted to see them blow the doors off teams as another "**** you" to the league. That feeling of antipathy toward the league never really stopped...

The anger and bitterness was washed away by three Super Bowls, featuring legendary plays like the Butlerception or the Edelcatch, and that kept me watching through years in which I still loved the Pats but hated the NFL. I still kinda hate the NFL and I still watch mostly only the Pats, but lately in the form of an optimist in September who is a sad **** by Thanksgiving.

Hopefully Vrabes and crew can turn this thing around...

**** the 32, **** Goodell, **** Ted Wells, **** ESPN...

I have to say....I feel 100% the same minus the deployment.....it's funny now because I think if I had to do it over again, I would have gone into the Navy or something.....would have definitely figured out what I wanted to do....rather than not deciding till almost 50 ffs....

Edit: what in the **** are Well's credentials anyways? Licked a boot or 2? Was the hole in the glory hole at waffle house? Was he even working within the orbit of the NFL? I wonder what it will take to get rid of him..

Incognito, Bountygate, Spygate, Deflategate....

Goodell's legacy.

Add in his wildly inconsistent punishments for crimes, sexual harassment, drugs, etc., too.

The only one who believed his "protect the shield" nonsense was him.

Yep, plus the "addition" of female game officials and eventually female crew chiefs; and the grabbing of ankles while being anal-raped by BLM Inc. and fellow slime-peddlers...

I just read that Goodell made almost 64M for the 21' year and I now feel sick.

I will credit myself for starting to push you all towards blaming the other owners instead of their errand boy.

I have long said Goodell is their 44 million dollar target. He is just there to absorb hate and blame, deflecting attention away from the people who pay him. EDIT: Even at 64 million, he is their monkey. 64 million is peanuts to even ONE billionaire.

Goodell is their EMPLOYEE. He is NOT their boss.

I was done caring about how Pats were perceived unfairly after dealing with spygate that I did not care nearly as much about deflategate. Was clear it was a witch hunt way more than spygate.

Vacating was based on the facts.
IIRC the overrule was based on legalese weaseling of not having standing or some other technical point &/or that such a thing had never been done in legal-sports world & they didn’t want to open the door to a zillion other cases in BB, hockey etc

I was young, definitely still believed that facts and material truth based on science were more matter-of-fact.

OH WAS I SO VERY, INCREDIBLE WRONG, RIGHT 2025?!?!

That's one side of the reasoning why they overruled Bermen.

Berman's ruling was the arbitration process lacked process and fairness. That was the opinion he issued.

The problem is Chin and the other judge said the "facts" were compelling if not overwhelming which were foundational to their ruling in favor of the NFL.

Their opinion also cited corporations have the right to discipline employees but the problem is a) what Berman ruled and b) cited the evidence as justifying the suspension.

The should have stuck w Berman's ruling which cited the evidence as "flimsy" which supercedes any discipline justification.

Either way....they won 3 Super Bowls after that whole BS.

You knew the jig was up and it was rigged when they said they were checking air pressure at a sub zero playoff game (? sea-Minn) and never released the results. Yeah because it showed science and how pressure dropped in cold weather.. The media never had the guts to say it lest the NFL blacklist them...

I'm with @Nikolai. I hate the NFL. If it wasn't for the Patriots, I'd be...
