I'll ask this again after the Combine to see if people have changed their minds.

You can make whatever assumptions you want here (how you think the draft should go, whether they trade up/trade down/stay put, etc.). Note the question is who you want them to draft, not who you expect them to draft.

1.hunter
2.carter
3. Graham

If hunter and carter are gone id see what the raiders are willing to offer to trade down to #6. If its pick 40, id take it and hope graham is still there. If not i might explore one more small trade down and go with one of the ot’s.

1 Hunter
2 Carter
3 Graham
4 Campbell/Banks although the positional need is greater I don't really think either one is worthy of a #4 pick. So I would look to trade down and get more picks and try to snag one of them along the way.

Of course Ray killed a guy is the correct and only answer since it doesn’t matter WHO we want since there will be 3 other teams ahead of us possibly taking said players we want. I’m hoping they start with a lineman is all I can say. Either side should suffice since OL was just terrible and the D couldn’t stop your average NAIA run.

Upgrades are needed across the Board.
The only players with safe roster spots should be Gonzalez and Maye.
Everything else can and should be evaluated to be upgraded.

Best player available.
Hunter or Carter.

Biggest need is LT. And that should be the absolute focus of free agency.
Second biggest need is WR. Also should be high priority for free agency.

But you can't pass on an A+ player for an A- at a position of need.
Look at the benefit of a great defensive line from the Super Bowl. Apparently defense still wins championships sometimes.
The Patriots won Super Bowls with Matt Light, Nate Solder, and Trent Brown at LT. Good, not elite tackles.
They had awful tackles this year - they need good, but don't need to sacrifice a great player for a good LT.

I'd start with looking into he best player available in any position of urgent/nearly urgent need. We're not going to get everything we need this year in any case, so just pick the best available in one of those positions. For some positions, free agent/trade could work, but great opportunities are likely to be scarce thing there, in part because we are not a very desirable destination, and in part because we should not look at players who will be aging out just as we become genuinely competitive, two or more years down the road. Probably one WR would be be gotten in via trade/free agent, another as a shot in the dark in a later round. If I had to choose our highest pick, wherever that in the end may be, by position, it would have to be O-line. Everything starts there, and I'm not sure, given Andrews' injury, that we have even one guaranteed-competent option across the entire line.

In all the excitement over our new HC and QB, it's easy to forget just how poor the roster is beyond QB, maybe DB, just about across the board,

With a pick this high, you definitely go best player available. That player is Hunter.

I don't expect Hunter will be available at 4, but if he is, he's the pick. Assuming he is not there, but everyone else except for him and the top 2 QBs are, then I'd go with Carter.

In the event that both Hunter and Carter are gone, I'd be trying to find a way to trade down a few slots.

Carter and my second choice isn't in the same stratosphere. I still think Hunter wants to play CB fulltime. If so, I would trade the pick if he is available at 4. The Pats do not need another elite CB. If he plays WR fulltime, that may be a different thing. Then he is a consideration.

RLKAG is always the right choice in a poll.

I think my top three are:
Graham
Cambell
Hunter

Hopefully the Patriots can sign a free agent like Ronnie Stanley or Alaric Jackson.
That would negate the need to draft an OT (Will Campbell) and then select one of the others (Travis Hunter/Mason Graham/Abdul Carter).

Right now I'm leaning towards Carter, slightly.

If the Patriots don't sign one of those two or trade for a LT, then I would prefer Campbell.

He may not be the BPA, but the team cannot continue to ignore that position.
