To counter manx's Jeanty thread lol

Mike Green will almost certainly wow at the combine. So I'm projecting a bit but the numbers don't lie.

Now this is assuming Carter is gone of course but here is the comps. Only measurable for Abdul thus far are that he's 6'3 259

Green is 6'4 248

32 arms
77 wing
8.5 hands

Abdul Carter

Mike Green

The one number I can't find for the life of me is his age lol but I know left Marshall with 2 years of eligibility left fwiw.

we saw what he did to Conerly

Another stat

And you have to factor in that Abdul Carter and JT Tuimoloau benefitted from the CFP.

He's lean. I'd be concerned about his ability to set the edge. The reps I have seen from the senior bowl make me think of Jonathan Taylor from Miami. Taylor was 6'6" and 248, so maybe it's just me. He looks great from the limited reps I've seen. Agree he's going to be a riser.

That was my initial concern too but I present exhibits A & B to the jury....

Are you thinking of Green to be an OLB in the defense or a 4-3 Defensive end?

I love Green.

But I think that'll be too early. Would love to move down around 8-10 and make this move, while getting some day 2 picks in the process.

I think he's capable of both but more likely DE if he adds some weight.

Here's some more tape of him against the run

What do you believe if the optimum weight for a 4-3 DE? Are you thinking Willie McGinest at 285?? Or thinking 275? or more?

He can be either, assuming Vrabel plays the same defense he did in Tennessee. Harold Landry was 252lbs there and was starting at both linebacker and end. Vrabel used the wide-9 quite a lot which allows for smaller DEs.

I think that they will run a 4-3 under, we currently have Godchaux at NT, Barmore if healthy at 3 tech, white at 5 tech, Anfernee could play Sam, Bentley Mike, Mapu hopefully at Will, We need at fast DE that excels at 7 or 9 and that is Carter or Green. I would be ok with Green at pick 4 especially after he runs a 4.55-4.62.

To the Pats fan base prepared to get clowned if we take Green at 4.

Edit: Forgot to mention that he has an advanced array of pass rush moves.

I do like Sawyer, but for me the 2nd round is reserved for Jihaad Campbell. I want him on the Pats so bad and that guarantees he will go to a team I dislike such as 31 other options.

I am curious what the base def will be a 4-3 under or 4-2-5.
I would LOVE Jihaad Campbell! He's a 6'2 244 lb version of the 6'4 241 lb Quay Walker (whom the Patriots could could possibly obtain for a Mid-Round pick from the Packers, possibly along with Rashard Gary for the same compensation), as they don't want to spend the money on Walker's 5th Year Option due to their Cap and other priorities. Even if we obtained Quay Walker (still young) and 6'4 288 pound Gary (about 27 or 28) for a couple of Mid-Round Picks, that would be improvement.

He is a great blitzer and really good in coverage. I have not followed Walker much, thanks for the info.

There are significant red flags regarding his off field character, I read somewhere during the year that he's not a popular guy in the locker room due to an aggressive bully mentality and a hair trigger temper. And there's still a lack of clarity over what happened at Virginia.

There's rumors of a domestic violence incident that I read, but if they do their homework on him and he's cleaned up his act then I think he's worth serious consideration.

Again I'm projecting here but I think he will score very well at the combine.
