2025 Draft: WRs

It is impossible to properly scout WRs without full access to all-22 tape so all we have to go on is scouting reports, measurables, stats and the eye test. Kyle Williams of Washington State scores well in those areas for me.

6-0, 186lbs
70 receptions for 1200 yds and 14 TDs this season
high 62.5% contested catch rate
One of the best YAC numbers in the class
He's in the top 15 for almost every receiving metric and is on a par with Jack Bech on most of them.
Only negative is 5 drops but that's less than Tet McMillan and Ayomanor and the same as Egbuka and Tre Harris

Scouting Report

His speed, especially with the ball in hand really shows up on his highlights. Interestingly neither Draft Buzz or PFF have him on their big boards but something is off there because he will be at the senior bowl.

The speed on that play at 0:44 is quite something.

Day 3 flier good scouting.

The more I watch of Travis Hunter the more I feel like he is a Garret Wilson kind of WR and would be great for Drake. I imagine that this is going to be a defense heavy draft though.

I do wonder what kind of receiver he would have been if he focused on it.....he does so much right at the position without ever really doing it full time

If you want separation, you might want to take a look at Konata Mumpfield from Pitt. He's not the quickest but twitter is awash with videos of him just destroying DBs with his intelligent quick cuts. A couple of examples. You'll want volume on to identify Mumpfield. He's No 9.

Getting rave reviews at the shrine game.

Thanks for sharing. Nice crisp cuts.

Alabama transfer Ja'Corey Brooks is a possible late round gem

He looks good but will have to wait until the Combine as Draft Buzz have him listed as a 4.65s guy. I don't think I'd want him with that time but if he runs a fair bit faster (4.5s) he'd be worth a day 3 punt. I do like the idea of signing 2 FA WRs and then taking a punt on a day 3 guy.

Broke two Cooper Kupp records at Eastern Washington: most consecutive games with a reception (54) and most receptions in a season (120). Other than a receiver from Army, Chism is the highest graded WR on PFF.

I'm starting to go full binky on Efton Chism - he just does everything well as a receiver. Ultimately however, it will come down to his athletic measurements. I'm a little concerned about his long speed so he'll have to run sub 4.65 in the forty and he'll need to have very good 3-cone and short shuttle times. If he does both, he will absolutely be one of my favourites for a day 3 pick.

Does he play in the wack Conference?? No Defender on those Teams he played against have a NFL future...horrible tacklers.

Does the name Cooper Kupp not mean anything to you?

I especially liked the moves he put on at the 10 second mark against 2 LSU DBs

Not seeing many First Round Projections I would be happy with him @ 36. He reminds me of both A.J. Brown and DK Metcalf.
