Id love Higgins man but some of the clippings have been concerning. He may take less to stay in cincy. I also read they could tag him for $26m which is likely the low end of what his price range may be and cincy has the space next year. Though if i were them id probably want to use that money on the defense.

Love the thought of stanley but im a little hesitant to get my hopes up on bmore not extending him lol same with the aj brown chatter, not sure if my heart can take getting hopes again!

I think most of us agree the OL needs 2 signings (2 ot’s or ot plus iol). This plus onwenu, strange and/or andrews plus a day 2 or 3 pick, plus layden potentially making a leap could hopefully field us a solid 5.
We also need a young Center that could start on Day 1 of the season (even if Strange becomes solid there). However, until we see much more, I'm not considering Strange a Center, let alone a solid one until he proves it (and that he can stay healthy).

I'm in on everything else you mentioned..but.. Hopkins is washed... Godwin is coming off his 2nd consecutive major injury at 28..
Hopkins might still command double coverage and could open up the game for others. If he is on single coverage , I am sure his contested catch will jump out. I don't think Higgins is available and I am not sold on Tet. So this is the best we can sign for this year without mortgaging future while providing safety valve for maye. He is better than Bourne.

We could trade for DK, DJ Moore or Chris Olave.. here me out.. Olave even though has had concussion history is on his rookie deal and could flourish with Drake.. DJ is proven vet that can run every route and get behind defenses and ha great hands. DK is a bigger bodies, 6'4 speed demon with excellent catch radius. I have no faith that we can draft and develop a WR until I see it. So sign some proven WR vets and bring the young guys along at a pace.

DK has been having issues leading to increased turnovers on contested catches . So very skeptical unless it's a 3rd rounder . I am okay for Moore who will cost maybe 4th or 5th or maybe Our 2nd for AJ Brown.

We have the younger andrews who's at C who's been on IR. Dave seems as if he's coming back especially with Vrabel at HC. Still we should draft one in the later rounds. I do like Benny brown.. he stands to get better under a Vrabel coached team.

I'd pass on Godwin. But maybe that's just me. I'd go with Elic Ayomanor and Savion Williams in the draft (especially if they don't get McMillan, or Egbuka, or Tre Harris). And even if they got a WR in the 1st Round, I'd still grab Ayomanor or Williams in the 3rd Round.

Say more - do you think it's Mike Evans that allows Godwin to thrive? (I've wondered that myself)

I'd like to see them try to fill with draft as well, but Godwin just seems to be that type of receiver that could do wonders for Maye and set a great example for Boutte and Douglas.

Jake Majors or Jared Wilson are Centers I would draft. They both could start on Day 1, or if not needed to, will be there if injury occurs.

I really don't want to sign T Higgins to a 35 million a year contract.
He won’t get that. In fact, he’d be lucky if he got $30M. With that said, the Pats are desperate and have drafted only 4 capable WR’s (only one making a Pro Bowl) since 1996.

Who was the pro bowl WR ? Memory escapes me.

Ugh how could I forget Glenn.. on if... he and Brady would have been surgical together.. RIP to TG..
On Glenn my buddy is a season ticket holder since 94.. he said what the organization did for his family was extremely classy when he passed. His son passed 1 year to the date of his passing.

He’s still my favorite Pats WR. When he was healthy, he was electric on the field. It’s damn shame he couldn’t get passed his issues as he would’ve won multiple Super Bowls.

Moss would’ve been #1 had he been with the team when he was younger.

Godwin is an excellent WR.. "when healthy ".. he's missing consecutive seasons with major injuries.. at 28 his body is more like 38.. need someone reliable for Drake.

I agree. It's the price tag that comes with being young and confident entering the league. I hated when we traded him to Dallas.. wasn't it Parcells who wanted him?? Moss oh most definitely. Had we gotten a 23,24 year old moss we'd have at least 4 more SBs.

Pats traded him to GB. GB then traded him to Dallas.

We'll have to overpay to get him. I'd pay Chase that money, but not Higgins.

Realistically what would be better use of that money? If the pats aren’t willing to offer top of the market contracts no one is signing with them. If they only look for team friendly/value contracts this free agency will go just like last years.

Pats need to spend money in free agency and the cap will be rising each year until the league stops growing. What might seem like a ridiculous contract today could be seen as good value in a few years.

Drawing the line on a FA target at lower than the market will bear is getting “too cute”. We went through this last year with Ridley and look how our receiver room ended up last year.

I want to see them target the best free agents they can and offer them top of the market deals.
