This feels more like what an organization well a functioning organization does. The HC has the say on the roster the GM signs the players and handles contracts. Unlike mayo Vrabel has his own guy.. this feels so similar to when Bill came how he brung pioli.. some time later Bobby Greer was out. I like it. Love that the HC has the say.. you could see last season that setup for mayo wasn't going to work..
It could go either way…

- Wolf is let go after the draft
- Wolf is retained and continues to do personnel things along with Cowden with Vrabel making the decisions. There is enough personnel work to go around between Wolf and Cowden. I prefer this scenario.

Yeah he might have his own grading system but I think it's too close to the draft to train all the scouts and get on the same page. I think they will roll with Wolf's and if it sucks...then time for more change. I like the addition of Cowden with Vrabel having the final say with personnel. Wolf and Cowden will provide input and Vrabel with make the decision. IMO Wolf won't make waves and what could he possibly do anyway? Run to Kraft? Kraft will tell him Vrabel makes the final decision.
Really?? People here in this Draft Forum made better picks than those Patriots Scouts. Don't kid yourself.

Dude…football 101: scouts don’t pick the players in the draft. It’s ridiculous to think they do. Scouts make recommendations…that’s it. Whether mgmt listens or not is a different story.

I see wolf hanging around the organization even if it's in a different role.. the Krafts really like wolf. I do too...I like that cowden and wolf will work together..

I think we can all agree we stand to get some talent back in Foxboro and thst talent will he coached up to succeed.

I think the scouts do all the grunt work.. meeting with the players and even following around seeing what they are into.. it's pretty extensive.. I know Vince young said he was at a club and a patriots coach approached him saying he works for the NEP and was scouting him...

I rest my case.

I saw you got kick out of Patriots Scouts scouting Vince Young: I rest my case on those guys your honor.

Pats brass was obviously listening them: thus the paltry returns on Draft capital.

I agree on the first part that she should be given a chance but he'll never have feet fast enough to catch up with an outside rush. He is not very different than the tackles we already have in that regard.

His topline is becoming a lesser Marcus Cannon. Meaning, he's so strong he can't be bullrushed. But when you're constantly giving up the outside, it becomes a huge weakness.

Brady hid the weaknesses of so many linemen because he moved so well in the pocket. He stepped up into the pocket instead of bailing, and effectively he made things very hard on outside rushers.

Joey Bosa spoke to this, about how hard it was to get to Brady from the outside.

I can really only think of Dwight Freeney as having any success
Small addendum, Jason Taylor made Matt Light his biotch 2-4 times a game as well.

Wish we knew what they were doing. I’m starved for news. Bet they are working their asses off evaluating, planning next moves and preparing for major changes.
I'd like to see OC and DC interview news.

It was well established that Brady's kryptonite was pressure up the middle because it did not provide enough time to get the ball out, even for him. Outside rushers take a couple of extra ticks of the clock, enough time to find the outlet target. Stepping up in the pocket is not Maye's go to move at this point in his career. In addition to buying time for the WR to get open, learning to do that will help him protect himself from big hits.

Not bad, but he is a Packer fan LOL
He still thinks they should have passed on Maye and taken Alt and then Powers-Johnson

I take it all back. I thought the people who wanted to pass on Maye were insane. I’m sure he’s a good kid though.

Yep. Seems pretty obvious the oline (LT) is the #1 priority. Can throw to WRs unless your QB has time to throw and is not hurt.

They are going to have to fix it in free agency. This isn’t the draft class to fix that.
