What are your thoughts on Mykell Williams

Here's his highlight tape. At the halfway mark is where he sacks our very own elusive Joe Milton with an inside move.

Not a big fan of Vrbo but as for Mykell Williams, I only watched one highlight reel and loved what I saw. He has so much strength and power and would be a beast against the run but I don't see how he's gettable. There are others I'd draft before him in the first and I doubt he falls to the 2nd. If he did, then I'd definitely be interested.

Sorry I was out running errands as I was posting lol

Yeah I'm thinking in a trade back scenario. Obviously the ideal selection would be a LT but as a plan B he'd be worth it.

Have a look at JT Tuimoloau as a slightly poor mans Mykell Williams.

I did this with OTs so here's the same for EDGE rushers. The bolded name may tell you why I'm particularly excited to post this.

True Pass Set Win rate amongst notable pass rushers:

Abdul Carter - 35.3%
Bradyn Swinson - 33.9%
Princely Umanmielen - 32.4%
Jack Sawyer - 30%
James Pearce - 29.5%
Mike Green - 28.9%
Donovan Ezeiruaku - 26.1%
Nic Scourton - 24.1%
Landon Jackson - 21.7%
Shemar Stewart - 21.1%
Kyle Kennard - 21%

Yeah I wasn't overly impressed but it's still so early in the process. I'm looking forward to the combine and pro days.

Tyler Batty, EDGE, BYU

6-5, 275lbs, looks to have long arms 34-35".

Not a twitched up edge rusher but is very strong against the run and setting the edge. the kind of high character, high floor player that fills out a roster. One online scout I've seen compared him to Deatrich Wise.

SCOUTING REPORT: STRENGTHS

Anchor monster in the trenches, showcasing plus play strength to stack and shed against the run with consistent leverage.
Motor runs hot; relentless pursuit to the ball carrier with sideline-to-sideline effort, often making backside plays.

Toolsy pass rusher with a developing arsenal; flashes a powerful bull rush and an intriguing spin move to keep tackles off-balance.
High-level processor with quick play diagnosis; rarely bites on misdirection or play-action, allowing for rapid reaction time.

Uses his pterodactyl wingspan effectively to press blockers and disrupt passing lanes, creating batted balls at the LOS.

Scheme-versatile defender; comfortable playing in multiple techniques across the defensive front with consistent production.

Natural field general; demonstrating cerebral pre-snap adjustments and on-field communication skills.
Violent hands at the point of attack; consistently wins the hand-fighting battle to disengage and penetrate the backfield.

Mike Green is a little undersized, but I love his intensity, hand fighting, burst, ability to win with inside and outside moves, and urgency toward the football.

I'm seeing him being talked about as EDGe 2 or 3 now. Feeling fairly confident as things stand he's a clear first round grade.

Makes sense, although I was hoping that one of him or Pearce might be available in the early 2nd. So many good options except for a high-end LT -- I'm all for a trade down this year!

Aside from Simmons and Conerly (need to do more work on Banks) I'm really not a fan of this LT class and I'm not convinced those two are anywhere close to potential pro bowlers - there are a number of very good OT to interior OL prospects however. If I'm trading back it's for Simmons but I thinking picking a blue chip player at 4 (Hunter, Carter or Graham) is the way to go.

There are some very good pass rushers (even if they're situational pass rushers) to be had on day 2 but the DT class worries as being too much 'low floor/high ceiling guys' and with the weak roster we have, we need high floor players with our early picks because we can't afford busts.

I really like Jared Ivey of Ole Miss as good fit for the Vrabel defense. At 6-6, 285 he can play strong side DE and passing down 3-tech in a 4 man front, a 5-tech in an odd front and possibly even SOLB in an odd front too. Not a twitchy pass rusher but a good bull rusher who is strong at setting the edge and stacking & shedding which I've seen Vrabel say are important characteristics for his D-linemen. Almost identical size and weight to Denico Autry who Vrabel had playing similar roles at the Titans.

I am wondering do we go Offense in FA and Defense in the Draft?? Imagine Carter or Graham and one of those guys. Defense would be well on it's way: watch out QB's.
