Vrabel Press Conference

What nonsense. You spend too much time watching WWE or something. Vrabel declined several opportubnities today to assert that he or his designee has final say on the roster. Enjoy your little macho fantasy, but it is irrelevant.
I bet if Vrabel feels strongly about a player, he gets his way, whether that power structure is explicit or not. The relationship is obviously going to be more complex than a simple hierarchy with Vrabel at the top, but I can't see Wolf going to war with Vrabel either. There will be internal consensus building, but I guarantee you Vrabel is not going to be disgruntled about the groceries, and if Wolf presents too much of a problem, he'll be gone. Vrabel is the man now. Wolf isn't.

He called Wolf, Eliot, about 12 times. I think Vrabel owns him but is presenting as collaboration.
I think this is being over played. To me, it showed that Vrabel has had lots of communication with Eliot already, and it was clear Eliot was instrumental in (co)leading the hiring/interviewing process.
You didn't get the sense Vrabel didn't like Eliot, or that he's on his way out.

Second Year QB check: now competent HC check: we are Now looking like an attractive place in FA.
I've said it on here at the end of the season, that so long as Mayo was here no premium FA was going to come here (even with Maye and if we overpay them, which we'll have to do anyway until the team becomes a winner again). But, now with Maye and the money, combined with Vrabel and what he'll put together, we have a shot at some premium FA's, even though we'll still have to overpay. But at least now the dynamics of acquiring FA's has changed for the better.

Yes, the point is that Vrabel and Wolf want to work together and will do so. Vrabel also welcomes alternative perspectives if they are grounded in reality. That said, when it comes down to it and he wants Player A but Wolf thinks Player B is the better choice, Vrabel will be selecting Player A.

I ams sure that went into the Krafts thinking too...can't sit on your hands and let this Head Coach Class pass you by.

Totally agree. Wolf is smart enough to know he won’t win a power struggle with Vrabel. This team will be built how Mike wants.

Parcells - Carroll - The GOAT BB - ???? - Vrabel = The Krafts have done very well when we think about it: nobody is perfect.
I will withhold final judgement until I see if they give Vrabel everything he needs to succeed.

It's called leadership.

I don't disagree with your premise. But, what will your solid if not Franchise LT (if they get one) is going to require for a contract? And what about Gonzo? And what about one or two #1 Caliber WR's? That money adds up.

I don't know what Ross' 'solid if not Franchise LT' is going to require but my choice will be on a rookie contract. Prior to yesterday I was sweating a bidding war for the not t0o exciting tandem of Cam Robinson or Jackson but now that my man Kelvin Banks Jr has declared for the draft I'm good.

That's also in Wolf's best interest, as drafting guys that the coach wants on his roster will mean the coach is able to do his job better and it leads to better results on the field, leading to a better-looking draft pedigree for Wolf. Going against what the coach wants hinders that. That said, if Vrabel really wants a player and Wolf feels like that player does not fit Vrabel's scheme well, I am sure Wolf will tell him so. It will be up to Vrabel to decide if he wants to re-consider, have a conversation, or ignore that input. But I think Vrabel knows enough to avoid drafting very many players that are poor fits.

Your second sentence is an admission that you have no empirical evidence for your view, expressing as you do that we must "wait for it."This is an argument?. I have offered arguments in support of my view which I will not here repeat for the tenth time.
I'm not making an argument. I am taking a wait and see approach to how it all unfolds.

You were looking for @RobertWeathers to defend with exact quotes he heard on the fekkin' radio, because you've already convicted them as guilty and ready to bring on the executioner. Yet you want to jump all over me for lack of empirical evidence when I am not the one you are arguing with.

I'm not asking you to repeat your view for the 10th time. I am asking you to smoke a fekkin' doob and relax for a goddam minute and see what happens. The team literally just introduced Vrabel as HC today.

I don't know what franchise LT is being discussed either, there's none on the market. I would also lean towards a rookie and a middling vet. Spend on the interior for now and draft/develop cheap young players on the ends. Once your tackles are found and are successful and need to be paid, that's years from now - hopefully by then you either have other guys on rookie deals to step in and replace them, or you have other guys on rookie contracts on the interior to step in and replace your high priced guards to save money there.

What - exactly - did he say in that venue?. He certainly did not so express himself so today, passing on several opportunities to clarify the record in a manner consistent with your assertion. The team is giving you an opportunity in the form of doubletalk to delude yourself, and you are grabbing it.
I suggest you watch the interview.

Of course Vrabes is going to speak in a collaborative tone as that is his nature and something he wants.

You don't hire a guy like that and pay him $15m without giving him final say on personnel. Period.
