Robert Kraft's Press Conference

Kraft: I don't want to go through this next year. We'll do what we gotta do to fix it.

Kraft expects Mayo will be more successful with more experience. So why was he hired again...?
Because he was caught with his pants down by BBs incompetence. Then again it was some of his doing because he did BB sort of dirty by anointing Optum as the next coach.

They asked again about it and he said they would be staying.
He'll be staying for now. Which is unfortunate, but not completely out of pocket.

It's more important he said Highsmith would be part of the search - he was not the last time around.

If a new coach wants Wolf gone, he'll be gone.

Yep Wolf is staying. How the **** can they say this before they have interviewed any head coach. If I am Ben Johnson I pull my acceptance for an interview.

Total clown show, still.

Edit to add I would personally tell Johnson and Vrabel to stay the **** away. They don't need to be part of this dumpster fire.
They may be hiring a coach and then having the coach pick the GM, Shannahan did this with Lynch.

There's many possible outcomes to that.

1. Wolf may stay, but only for now
2. Wolf may stay, but with someone over his head
3. Wolf may stay, but with the coach having final say over him
4. Wolf may stay, and prove he is actually good at his job and Mayo ****ed him in 2024

Then you say that. When asked about the new coach and who he would be allowed to bring in, he could have said that is on the table.

Instead he said nothing of the sort.

no legit coach will want to come here under this scouting regime knowing they have 1 year to show improvement.

The problem with this is the same thing that happened in Atlanta.

The owner and his underperforming front office were all involved in the selection of coaches.

There is absolutely no doubt that they want to keep their jobs, so if Johnson or Vrabel want to come in with a GM/personnel guy, what do you think Highsmith or Wolf will recommend?

The Krafts have learned absolutely nothing.

I have seen in a few places that Wolf is respected in the league. The candidates may be cool with Wolf (and/or Highsmith). Who knows. We will see.

Kraft denies telling the coaching staff to handle the game a certain way ("tank" without saying the word)

Bob mentions Highsmith before Wolf - that's interesting.
I'm okay with those 2 getting another year, but I hope both Bob & Jon consult a variety of input outside of those 2 when deciding on HC.

You have to understand one thing.
Highsmith is not a 'Wolf' guy - he was brought in just last year - he was not part of the old regime. The fact that he'll be heading up the search is a big deal and a shift in philosophy.
