Ideally Bill retires when Brady left so the rebuild can start fresh.
That is what I wanted as a fan to happen. Let them both go out on top!

But his personnel decisions are still on full display.
Bill loved his hybrid players. His system stressed versatility and flexibility. So you have guys like Dugger who aren’t specialists in one area but can play multiple positions in a system. Or Strange. Now that Bill isn’t here they’re exposed for being subpar at their position and the system doesn’t utilize them as much as hybrids. So I wonder if that’s part of the problem. Dumb idea to bring those guys back.

It’s time to go back to the traditional way of drafting. Get guys who are actually really good at their position.

Kraft made Mayo the coach in waiting, maybe it’s time to make him the replacement for Andre Tippett when he decides to retire. He may be good at that after learning from Andre.

Perfectly said. I mentioned yesterday about strange for example playing C. I know Andrews is out and brown is out so I get why he was filing in at C. However he was drafted as a LG your 1st round pick. He should be the solidified LG protecting Drake not filing in at C. Yes bill was masterful at squeezing all the talent out of guys. I just believe it's just so much confusing methods the players are being coached. Mayo's probably telling his coaching staff what he wants However could these guys be going rogue?

PatsFan2 said it perfectly move mayo into a role in the organization upstairs.

Hire a GM over Wolf, let the GM decide that Mayo isn’t the guy at HC to take the blame off of Kraft, then have Kraft move Mayo into some nonsense role like “Associate Vice President of Sports Community” never to be heard from again except every so often at a charity event.

Love it!!!! In a perfect patriots world that's a great idea! We know that RK will do the opposite.. he'll keep Mayo and the organization will put covington in another role on the defense. Boy is this defense horrible.

To me it was clear after 2017 that it was BB or TB. They somehow managed to keep them together and win another SB. It was miraculous. But after that you take action.

Damn!

I was going to apply for that job!

I was listening to a couple post show podcasts, one with Mike Kadlick and Taylor Kynes, and the other with Tom Curran and Phil Perry.

Both of them expressed concerns with a sentiment from the Pats office that Kraft was concerned with being proven right by hiring Mayo.

So proof right there that Bob is putting his ego ahead of the wellbeing of the franchise, the careers and development of the players, and the financial and emotional investment of the fans into the team.

That is all subservient to Kraft being proven right, even if he will never be proven right.

You are a bad owner, Bob, you can’t identify the right people for football positions that you hire, with the blind squirrel acorn exception of BB.

Mayo was a stupid hire, and you were just along for the dynasty ride that BB and Brady brought us.

Try embracing reality.

Very interesting. Yes I catch Taylor and kadlick on YouTube they are excellent. Also it doesn't get any closer to Curran as well. I believe RKs affection for Mayo the man has clouded his judgment to his ability as a HC. As bad as he needs to make the changes.. we know he won't. He’s going to give Mayo the support he needs and upgrade this woefully bad roster. If it still looks this way say by the trade deadline next season then Mayo's out.

D Andrews is done or almost done. Strange's move to Center is permanent. Strange was mocked as a Center in the draft, but we didn't need a Center. Now we do.

Why keep Wolf? He is the most responsible for this.

Good points. I said myself Andrews is done. Don't see him coming back we know he's a tough SOB.. he has nothing to prove has his rings and made his $$$.. so next season strange at C.. now we need to figure out LT, LG & RT.

Why was it clear after 2017?

The Wickersham article on internal strife didn't come out until 2 years later. There were no rumblings in the press about the fact that Guerrero had been exiled (it's pretty clear that this is the #1 thing that pissed off Brady).

Agreed as brady earned the right to to train with whoever he felt. I think bill was ticked that other players were go to AG right? Or something to that level.
