Too many holes . It will take us 2 off seasons and at least 2026 to sniff the playoffs. I was in your boat, but sadly looks like we need 22 core players and we have maybe 5 players. How do we get the 17 core in single season when we struggle to get more than 3 players a season

Take this season

Out of 8 draft picks - only 2 are relevant for now - Maye and the UDFA safety.

Free agents signed - only Austin Hooper, Ellis and Gibson are performing. Rest all are miserable and sucking/ released -- okra for, Jordan, takitaki, , forget the wide receiver claimed by Washington.

Our home Algerian resigned agents - onwenu performing at 50% , dugger 20%, rham would probably be cut next season, barmore most likely lost
Almost 100 million plus is down the drain considering the guaranteed contracts . Probably our Russel Wilson equivalent .

Broncos have come back remarkably in a year and that's on coaching. But Mayo needs help and no good coach would join him. They need to fire Covington, but who will join him. If Kraft is cheap and turns back to Mayo next season might be a 4-5 win season and top 5 pick again.

That's fair. I'm no fan of Mayo & skeptical of Wolf. There are certainly reasons to be pessimistic. If the pats go bargain bin shopping again in FA they can expect similar results.

An optimistic view would be most superbowl contenders have 3-5 elite players. The pats could be on their way to having their cornerstone players:

Drake Maye
Christian Gonzalez
Christian Barmore*
Travis Hunter

*health permitting

I don't disagree that most of the roster is a mess. One would hope players like Douglas, Tavai, etc. would be better when they are the 15th-20th best players on the team rather than in the top 10. The middle of the roster has to come through the draft & 1 starter won't cut it.

I’m ok if Rhamfumble is elsewhere in 2025. Let some other team figure out why he can’t hold on to the ball.
How about Mapu trying to run his INT out of the end zone instead of taking a knee? That put them at the 1 yard line instead of the 20. Those kind of things, as well as avoiding penalties, are taught to players long before they get to the NYFL. If they're not getting it that's on them.

The worst coaching decision that I saw was going for it with a 7 point lead on your own 25. Even if it works it's a stupid call.

It's going to be a hard sell for fans to show up next season with the same coaching staff. That waitlist will dissappear. There are no legit candidates out there after Vrabel & Johnson are snatched up.

I agree, let's see if we can trade him for his equivalent 4th. He is a game changer, positively but unfortunately also negatively.

He's very Ridley like. Had seven over his first 3 years as well iirc. A lot more yards/TD's, but I think that was because of a better line.

That pick would have a lot of value, good QB's, deep draft......Mayo and Wolfe fired.....Hmmmmmm
I just can't imagine going thru another year being as bad, they have to be better next year, don't they?
I sure do hope so, getting more difficult to leave the parking lot to go into the game.

Great comp. Very similar to Ridley, which is sad, because Rham has all the tools and natural ability. But he lacks 2 things:
ball security (awareness in clutch moments)
high motor (he doesn't give 100% all the time, he quits on plays, can't gain a yard when D knows its a run)

Here's a defending Super Bowl MVP and Patiots fans' darling performing the same boneheaded play as Drake and Rham yesterday. Also, the GOAT lost the challenge on the lateral versus forward pass.

Remember how quickly they ditched those blueberry uniforms because they kept losing in them?

Why did Bob ever bring that ugly ass look back?

And Tom has made plenty of dumbass plays during his career.

I can't be convinced that Wallace or Sow could do as badly as Jacobs at right tackle. Some decent pass protection can help develop a good running game; Maye has flipped the standard script on how to dictate to a defense.

I want to see the following lineup for the last two games to hopefully salvage something for next year:
LT Lowe LG Sow C Strange RG Owenue RT Wallace

Did Mayo forget Jacobs absolutely sucks? No good reason for coaches to call a play near their own goal line where a stiff like Jacobs stands in the way of the play working or turning out the disaster that it did. Jacobs whiffs on the cut block… imagine my shock.

Maye obviously should have recognized quicker that the play failed and went somewhere else with the ball. That will come with more experience.

This is a losers take. You're too old to be out here name calling. Settle down.

I don't expect for you or any of the brigade of win useless games at the end of the season bask in the glory that is our awesome stud QB or anyone else we get this draft. You made it clear we're losers and you are the Almighty.

Nah it's actually perfectly okay to not want to field a losing-ass team just for the sake of a draft pick. It literally doesn't promise **** and runs the risk of alienating players you may wanna keep and drives up the odds against you in FA. I have no idea why you're so confident that the exchange is all worth it.

What "big play" does Mayo see here? Even if the cut block happened, and Stevenson catches the ball, that's like a 6-7 yard gain max.

Thank you! I mean, Mayo is right that Jacobs should have made the block and there’s some yards if he does. That’s obvious to everyone. But has he not seen this team this year? Did he not think that Jacobs getting blown up was a legitimate possibility on this play? That’s why coaches take plays out of the playbook. Yet he lets his OC call it at his own 5 yard line. Yeah, dumb call by the OC, but Mayo’s the head coach and is supposed to rein in a bad call if he hears it made.

Gibson also wasn’t looking back at Maye or he might have had something on the play if Maye went to him.

Unacceptably risky to call that play at your own 5 yard line with Jacobs at LT

Yeah, you can't call plays in a vacuum. You've got to give due regard to who you're asking to execute, esp. the critical part.

Forgot about this. Worked just as well so of course Mayo/AVP just had to try it again. The 3rd time will work I swear!!!
