that could just be amazingly sweet:

- if we beat dolphins, would give us perfect regular season
- could put skins in the playoffs
- could knock giants out of playoffs

some how it just all makes sense. dotting the "i" in perfection by beating a team from new york, and putting the team that experienced tragedy in the playoffs.

Eli is miserable, and he just lost his best target for the season. The Giants win games entirely because of their defense. While I think they do have a very good defense, I don't see anyway Eli and that pathetic offense can keep up with us.

The only teams that will be able to have a shot at us are complete teams. And the Giants are not a complete team.

shockey wasnt all that anway. for all his showboating he had 3 TDs this year. exactly half that of our own far less heralded ben watson. truth is giants whole offense was destined for disaster:

- their best threat tiki retires
- plaxico has a back injury and never practises, and is clearly a shell of the player he had been
- shockey is gone
- eli is the #1 bust no one talks about

one thing i'll say about losing shockey though, his rookie backup boss may be better. don't be surprised if he shows enough promise these last 2 games to challenge shockey for the starting position next year.

My only preference is that the Giants take the Bills this week,
so that they are cemented into the playoffs.
Thus their best interests in our game are to
rest starters before their wildcard game.

And, after falling behind early, they can play out the rest of the game "vanilla"
... rather than fighting desperately to claw their way into the playoffs.

duude, you cannot be serious they have a chance of defeating us at home w/ a perfect season on the line. YOU CANNOT BE SERIOUS

Any given Sunday, anything can happen. The Ravens almost beat the Pats

Plus, Eli Manning is unstoppable. they even said it in his commercial, and you are not allowed to lie in commercials.

I have been getting e-mails from my Giants buddy starting over a week ago about this game. Their fans are hoping for a repeat of the Broncos upset back in 1998 when they ruined their undefeated season. Nobody expected it then and certainly nobody expects it now.

If the winds are swirling and the weather is bad it could be a close game. Eli IS terrible but the Giants as a team have been up and down all season.

Since the Giants should be locked into the 5 or 6 seed then they shouldn't have anything to play for. My buddy couldn't get it thru his head that it is more important for the Giants to rest key players in preparation for a tough road playoff game in Tampa. What happens if the team is beat up from going all out to upset the Pats.

He thought this Giants team had no shot in the playoffs but they could be THE TEAM that is remembered for beating the Pats.

Shockey is TERRIBLE BTW. Talk about a BUST!

I'd like to see Pay a tons little brother get a good beat down. He and his daddy wanted him in NY to be on a high profile team with plenty of media. They got their wish, IMO not enough bad can happen to his career.

Joking aside, your comments are right on 100%. They Giants could throw the kitchen sink at us...gadgets, spread us out, beat us down the middle (just like Baltimore almost did). The Meadowlands would be full of Patriot-haters and can get as loud as any stadium. Eli has the ability to have a HUGE game off talent alone...I am sure brother Peyton spends hours a week breaking down the Pats.
All hypotheticals, but all possible. No Gimmes until we hoist that trophy, boys.

Knocking the Giants out of the playoffs would be sweet. Bunch of idiot new york fans. Ruin their season, couldn't be nicer.

Not sure if the Giants are in wtih a win in Buffalo this weekend.

Go Patsies.

Giants are in with a win or a Redskins loss or a Saints loss.

I agree with the previous guy, if the Giants are in the playoffs already they probably won't fight us as hard.

They will have a playoff game a week later to prepare for. That's 100 times more important to them than defeating the Patriots. And Belichick is ex-Giants, I don't think they have any animosity against him that would fire them up.

The Giants are gonna need a really bad weather day, the great equalizer, and pound the ball with Jacobs all day. Hopefully for the Giants that game will mean nothing, it probably wont, since the Bills game this week is one the Giants should win.

The team is quite simply much much better on the road, for whatever reason. Theyve won 6 in a row on the road, Eli plays much better on the road then at home (Comp% is 12% higher on the road, QB rating is 21 points higher on the road), the last 2 years theyve clinched a playoff berth on the road, so this weeks game is the type of game the Giants have won with consistency in the Coughlin-Eli era

Believe me, no one here wants to envision a scenario where the Giants need that game to get in the playoffs. I honestly doubt it gets to that point though

No it isn't. Don't fool yourself by looking at records: the Bills are a better team than the Giants.

Eli's safety valve is actually Amani Toomer, a hugely under-rated possession receiver.

Giants are a GOOD road team though, with their only loss being to Dallas. I can see them somehow squeaking past Buffalo(and then resting their starters in wk17).

it's all about attitude and confidence. we don't need to rely on what other teams are doing or not doing with their starters, game plan, motivation, etc etc. that kind of thinking is for marginal wild card teams struggling to get in. we show up, we play the team on the field, we win. simply thats the attitude

OK. the team with the 30th ranked defense and the rookie QB is better then a team who is about to go to the playoffs for the 3rd season in a row.

Scuse me if i point out the fact that you really dont know what your talking about. AFC East outside of the Pats is chalk full of crap. Go call your bookie and take the Bills money line, theres money to be made (more likely lost) by taking an underdog on the ML

I've watched the Giants since training camp, I know their roster as well as most casual Giants fans. The Bills are a better team than the Giants. I'll take JP Losman or Trent Edwards over Eli Manning on his best day. Aside from a couple outstanding defensive linemen, Jeremy Shockey, and Plaxico Burress, the Giants team is purely average, if not below average. Talk about the AFC East, the NFC is an absolute laughingstock which is the sole reason the Giants even have a chance at being in the playoffs; in their only games against a contender this year they got their butts kicked up and down the field. They've been knocked out in the Wild Card round the past three years in the playoffs.

The Giants are not as good a team as the Bills. I'd put my money on the Bills this weekend and wouldn't look back.
