Patriots new training facility

Maybe I'm alone on this, but Gillette is fine as a stadium. It's not as nice as the newer ones in the last ten years that are essentially luxury experiences, but there's some real dumps out there.

Mile High for instance is a **** show compared to Gillette.

Also unlike a lot of other teams, there's some serious history at Gillette. The team won 5 of 6 Super Bowls playing there. It's not like we are the Vikings or Falcons who never won ****. Or even the Rams/Raiders who moved. Plus there's like 17 stadiums in the league that are currently older than ours.

Only younger Pats fans could complain about an owner financed stadium and training facility. Their forebearers can still recall their aluminum bench freezer burned asses too well to ***** about Gillette.

People should also realize if we get a new stadium today

1. Tickets are going to be more expensive.
2. There is going to be a HUGE incentive from the NFL to put a roof on it. Like Kraft will be promised a Super Bowl if they do that.

Honestly, if they get a stadium, I don't care much about football, I care about the acoustics for concerts.

The 2.1 billion Titans stadium is partially funded by the public to the tune of 1.2 billion.

Its a dome which means Super Bowl and luxury suites galore for deep pocket corporations and individuals. The rest of the common folk will now pay a PSL for rights to purchase tickets.

Kraft will want a dome with a retractable roof this time like big Jerry has. No way Mass will allow Kraft to fleece them again. Go take your woke 3 - 14 team down to Connecticut.

You're not alone, objectively Gillette is fine as a football stadium. By comparison Nissan, just 3 years older, was and is meh, totally lacking a sense of character or 'flavor' of any type. The only things the current Nissan has going for it are location and access. Other than that it's a generic block of concrete and outside of the 'Music City Miracle' nothing much of note has ever happened there.

Football stadiums are a place to sit and watch games. Halftime is so short; you don't have time to get a hot dog and a beer that you can't afford in the first place. Quit trying to put lipstick on the old pig. You want to improve the game time experience? Put a dome over it so you don't freeze, perspire, get soaked. The glitz benefits the high rollers, doesn't do anything for my experience. It's still concrete and steel.

I like Gillette including the fact that it’s not domed. You come out of a victorious playoff game there and you feel like you’ve really earned it, even as a fan.

A dome isn't paying for itself in Foxborough. In Boston (or adjacent) where it could be regularly used for a wide variety of events maybe but in Foxborough not so much

Kraft HAD to build this new building. FIFA completely takes over stadium facilities before and during the world cup - like no access for the existing tenants. Pats would have nowhere to meet, train (unless Kraft sends them to the Foxboro Y), and practice May-July 2026.
Let's not give Krafty Bob any medals for this, he head to do it.

I was downtown yesterday and the Titans new stadium is going up fast, its going to be huge. No doubt they want a Super Bowl down here. The season ticket holders had to buy new PSLs and yes, tickets went up.

Can't argue that, Gillette is quiet as stadiums go. The old cement bowl had twice the noise from half the people

That's why I said the only thing I'd care about if they upgraded was better acoustics for concerts. Went to Metallica last August and it was awesome if you were on the floor right in front of them, but everyone who had seats told me it sucked

Yup. There's no way on Earth they spend the money on a new "better" stadium and don't say the ticket prices are going up for the better stadium experience they provided.
