DRAFT 2025 Patriots Draft Prospects

I don't want Higgins. Too much baggage, and ALWAYS hurt.
I also don't want Hunter - he'll be too risky, and not worth a top 4 pick.

We took a swing at #3 last year and got our QB. Now, we NEED to trade down to 10-15, and get a blue chip LT and a low first round WR or EDGE.

You have to keep trying at WR - but for the Pats, it will never be high draft picks, it has to be FA's like Bourne or Welker.

Low first round WR = Another potential Harry, Dobson, Polk, Thornton. Why would we do that?

The last time we actually tried picking a WR in the first 15 picks of the draft, we nailed All Pro Terry Glenn. Maybe we should try again?

If you actually believe in Drake Maye, don't you want to surround him with a surefire weapon he can throw the ball to?

The numbers Sciz posted should scare everyone away from Higgins. You can’t give a guy who can’t win big on the outside 30 million a year.
I'm open to truly viable alternatives if you have any.

I'm going to keep my eye on CB Emmanuel Forbes who got cut by Washington and picked up on waivers by the Rams. No doubt teams passed on him because of his rookie 1st round contract, but I'd really like to know why the Patriots passed on him. We need a bigger CB at the other spot and he has size. I trust Marcus Jones in the slot, and Austin seems like that utility dime back, the 3rd guy downfield.
Be careful when you say size. he is 6'1". If he weighs 150 lbs then he is soaking wet and just finished a Chinese buffet
Forbes is on the left and in no way can he muscle anyone at the line of scrimmage and have longevity colliding with NFL players

Because of the last 20 years, that's why. It doesn't matter if we would have picked Pickens instead of Thornton, or Samuel or AJ Brown instead of Harry... whoever the Pats select in the first 2 rounds at WR WILL BUST. It's just a curse we have to assume.

So, don't waste hopes or picks. Just bolster the OL & DL and get a FA WR that hasn't peaked yet, and pick a 3rd or 4th round in the draft to play the dice.

Some think Drake Maye might be a generational talent. There's no mistake that Travis Hunter is one imagine getting Hunter this year. He should go number 1 that's why I want us to lose out. Those other Teams all need QB's for the most part.

Was looking at Drew Allar and watching a bunch of his throws. He's a project but has potential.
However, TE Tyler Warren with the same Penn State would be great, unfortunately looks likely he goes in mid round 1 in many mocks. A few have him slipping into the 2nd due to being a TE. He's a playmaker but I know not a not a need with Henry, BUT if he slips to the 2nd would be worth it anyways as unlikely any other prospect left would rate so high.

FYI, most current mocks have Hunter to Jags, Sanders and Ward to Raiders and Giants. Leaves T-Mac to us.
Banks, Campbell, Carter and Johnson are other possibilities at 4.

Need the Jags to win a game.

Counting on Mac Jones to finally help out the Pats!

Have you seen that kid below a WR in a TE's body.

I like the Michigan kid too TE Colston Loveland.

I looked at this yesterday and saw that their hasn't been a top 10 WR bust since Corey Davis in 2017.

But there have been OT busts in the top 10 in that time.

That must be him on the left

Actually, John Ross was taken later in the top 10 in that same draft, so technically he is the latest top 10 WR bust.

Point of information for those of us who bemoan the recent Patriots history in the draft. Forbes was the fourth consecutive Washington first round draft pick who failed to make the team.

I hope so. Unfortunately our front office doesn't think as logically as you. Kraft doesn't hold ANYONE involved in our wide receiver decisions accountable for their catastrophe's. How many passes do they get?

He fired Belichick, that’s as accountable as accountable gets.

Unfortunately it looks like the draft, or a trade, is the only recourse as the free agent outlook sucks. That said I don’t believe in paying top money to players out of desperation. You don’t create a true contender by paying lesser players top dollar. Save the big money for all pro caliber players.

I really hope the team ignores the desperation the fans demonstrate. You build a long term contender by making good decisions, not by acts of desperation driven by fan panic. They clearly need to build up the receiving corps, but that doesn’t make it wise to throw money at players who don’t deserve it. I was open to the idea of going after Higgins if he is worth it, but given how frequently he’s injured, and the numbers Sciz posted earlier, indicate that he won’t be worth the money someone will give him. I understand the desire, but wasting money means you end up losing guys like Gonzalez down the road.

My only concern with that is that MacMillen is the only WR , other than Hunter, worth a top 5 pick, and I’m not altogether sold that he is going to be a great pro receiver. It’s going to be a question of whether he can get open in The pro’s or not? Hunter shut him down, will he have the same issue in the NFL?
3-15 and a 2yd td vs Hunter. Basically got owned last year by him too. These games are important matchups. Some of these guys can mop the floor with soon to be janitors and plumbers but it’s a good look when they can also do it against elite talent.

Kelvin Banks looked terrible vs Georgia and then rose back up the ranks to be the number 1 prospect again after stringing off some good performances. Now he may not play vs Georgia in sec championship? Coincidence? Hmmm…either he’s injured or he’s protecting his draft stock.
