I think he was expecting Douglas to cross the inside safety, and I'm also inclined to pin the INT on Douglas because he never looked back.

But if people want to look for someone to crucify, it's Mayo. He was thoroughly outcoached by McVay.. really bad. Just couldn't keep up with the tweaks McVay was throwing out there.

And whoever had the idea to have Gonzo shade Robinson through most of the game, instead of Kupp or Nacua needs to be put to the stake as well.
Oh I agree. Sit him on one of Nacua or Cupp, then double the other one etc. It's pretty simple.

I hate the way Gibson runs. Always picks the wrong hole. I dont really care how shifty you are if you're picking the wrong hole and getting stopped at the line. Rham gains yardage all the time. I dont think he's great but... Not a Gibson fan. Ezekiel >>> Gibson
Wow, I don't think Gibson is that bad - just needs to be used right for his skill set.
Even so, Rham getting stopped for no gain on multiple 3 & 1 AND goal-line situations is unacceptable.
And the worse part for me is - he just doesn't look like he's giving everything, like those guys who have "it" and won't be denied.
He has more talent than guys like Blount or BJGE, but half of the determination.

I'm somewhat positive on Maye, but he does have a concerning turnover trend that made me wary of him coming out of college. I hope it's not a harbinger of things to come in his career. I know the rest of the team isn't carrying their own weight, not by a long shot, but I am worried that the fumbles and interceptions will continue.

I think we can be confident he knows turning the ball over during an attempted two minute come from behind drive is a bad thing.

If he needs the HC to explain that to him we need a QB that isn’t braindead.
It also makes me laugh when someone gets a flag thrown on them and people say thats on coaching, sometimes yes but I feel like the tell the OL where to lineup and not to hold and don't grab the facemask.

I would like AVP to do some homework...

1. List all the 1st down calls for Rham to run and what your expected yardage for that call was;

2. List all the same plays' actual yardage;

3. Explain what the hell you think you're doing.

That last INT was heart breaking. Could have been an easy TD if Maye threw it with air to where Pop was running - no one in that part of the field. Or at worse - an incompletion.
I know he's a rookie, but that's a horrible pass.

Low expectations, low results. The coaches are not getting across that continual screw-ups are not acceptable.

So Krafty Bob broke the bank in free agency for Mac Jones and went shopping at Bldg 19 for Drake Maye...smart move jackass

Been saying forever we should be activating milton and running 3rd and short packages with him. We have failed too many times in easy conversion opportunities

Looks to me like Drake's error. That does not mean, however, that Maye is in any sense the team's problem. I find that an utterly foolish take to the extent it is implicit in any of the posts here. The #1 problem is the GM. The other main problem, to which we are expected for some asinine reason - I have my suspicions - to remain blind, is the incompetence of the head coach and an owner who seems no longer to be capable of running a responsible, professional hiring process.

Hill and Waddle > Kupp and Puca...get ready for another @ss whopping in Hot Miami next week. After Today I don't think we win another game we're bad on both sides of the ball.

Am I the only one who thinks Rham is not good.
He dances forever, he turns sideways immediately on short yardage, inside runs.
Gibson is much more nimble and shifty.
Rham barely gained 1 yard (or TFL) on most of his 1st down runs.
I know we can blame the OL too, but did you see Williams and even 5-foot-nothing Corum??
The fumbling killed whatever juice he had, if he needs to be loose with the ball to be effective then his role needs to be replaced in the offseason

Could be either one but I'm getting the feeling that Douglas does not 'get it' the way Brown, Welker, and Edelman did.

Douglas is in his second season. You might want to go back and look how well Edelman, Welker, and Brown all played at this point in their careers. If you think any of the three "got it" their first two years, you will be greatly disappointed. Hell, Brown was cut by Parcells right before Brown's second season only be signed back in October of that season.

Good point. It's easier to remember the high points than the journey to get there.

The silver lining I guess is that the McVay is a great coach who squeezes as much out of his offense as any coach and we only lost by 6 and our coaching staff is not very good.

Maye is a legit franchise QB who needs a good amount of coaching. His lack of situational awareness led to turnovers but everything else is there for the kid. The physical tools, the calmness in the pocket, the ability to decipher a defense.

On that last drive after the 2 minute warning, he shouldn't have held on to that ball that long for a sack. It's 2nd and 6, plenty of time, all they needed was to get first downs and move the ball. He shouldn't have been looking for a big play. And on 3rd and 11, throwing it down the middle with all those defenders was a poor decision. Coaches should have been telling him that he had 2 downs to pick up 11 yards. Again, it's the bad coaching. This kid needs help.

Defensively, the players are out on their own for the most part. They have to make great plays to make stops because the scheme and playcalling leaves them exposed and ready to be exploited by a good OC.

Yeah keep playing polk. Sitting him would eliminate those flags
