Hard to win when the defense gives up 4 TD passes. They were mostly overmatched. They need some help, Eliot.

Not Maye’s best game but he did a lot to keep them in the game. Remember when the offense scoring 22 points was a dream? He needs some help, Eliot.
Nucua is a giant.. however unacceptable to have 2 WRs with 100 plus yards.. I have no problem with Drake throwing an INT kid was trying to make a play for his team.

ohh the what if game, I love it...or could have been downed inside the 5, fair catch is muffed, the punt returner tries to be a hero and run it back and fumbles. This is fun
You are right, Mayo would get creamed regardless of the negative outcome. My argument is that playing safe is for good teams, we stink be aggressive in these situations imo

Good thing about this upcoming draft is that teams will have no idea what pick the Pats will make, you can make an argument for CB, WR, and OT
You can also make a case for EDGE, and I've even seen a couple of people suggest Mason Graham, too.

It’s pretty clear Maye expected Pop to sit in the zone !

Either he is wrong or Pop was wrong but we will never know because Drake is a good leader and he will bite the bullet even if he isn’t wrong
Could be either one but I'm getting the feeling that Douglas does not 'get it' the way Brown, Welker, and Edelman did.

How confident can we be that the imperatives of situational football there are being explained to him by his HC or anyone on this coaching staff?
I think we can be confident he knows turning the ball over during an attempted two minute come from behind drive is a bad thing.

If he needs the HC to explain that to him we need a QB that isn’t braindead.

Dunno, I think thats a see what the safety is doing then adapt and Douglas broke outside to split the free safety and I think a corner.

Regardless the INTs are piling up and the league is a passing league now vs Manning in '98 etc.

Second time he has thrown such an INT. Development should not include developing bad habits. He is now repeating errors not fixing them.
A third game ending INT this season when there was no need to press, then I'll start getting worried. Otherwise, besides the eephus Mac Jones-eque throw to the sideline, there's a lot to be excited about.

I still remember a play against the Jets. Edelman is running down field, Brady throws it when Edelman is about 10 yards from where he is expected to sit down. Edelman stops, turns and sits a spit second before the ball got there. Right on target.

There's a big problem with coaching on both sides of the ball.

On defense this week, all 3 of the final TDs by the Rams were very bad defensive play design.

1. Overload on trips, we had 2 guys out there for 3 WRs.
2. We all out blitzed and left 3 CBs on 3 WRs. Dugger started deep but he to drop down on a wide open receiver 15 yards downfield.
3. Dugger dropped close to the line for some reason leaving Ellis one on one. This one was bizarre. I'm inclined the blame Dugger but after seeing the very poor play design of the previous TDs, I want to know what he was doing there.

This defense was really good last year, and it's largely the same players with the addition of Gonzo.

They are undisciplined, out of position.

We badly need a free safety to captain this defense.

Defense was borderline pathetic at times. Offense was not bad. A little better blocking and we win. Maye was really good but poor decision in crunch time. Henry is great as always and Bourne is still pretty reliable. Boutte is okay but needs to be more consistent. Pop isn't used enough. Polk is still useless and sometimes a detriment to the offense.

Also, we need to get out of the contracts of Duggar and Tavai somehow. The defense is no better whether Duggar plays or not. The impact safety was Peppers who is unavailable due to off the field stuff. Tavai was never great and was just living off the play of Bentley imo.

That’s how we got spoiled.

That was routine.

I don't like Drake "I'm giving you one" Maye very much right now. That NEEDs to get ironed out of his system because if it doesn't they ain't going to be winning at a very high level consistently.
Yeah - he needs to cut out these game losing picks. This one was the worst one.

He had a very good game overall. Penalties were bad and so was D for large portions of the game.

It's the inverse: good teams can be aggressive because they understand how to play safe.

I said it immediately at the Kupp TD the first 10 seconds of the 2nd half - that will be the difference in the game.

Our D is just so mentally weak. They get too complacent after 1 or 2 decent possessions. Then just get sloppy & lazy.
Coming out for 2nd half - that was really on Jones. He should have stayed with Kupp and made the tackle.

polk with two massive ****ups at the end of the game.
