Why don't any of you have patience?

Some of us waited through 40 years of mostly football ineptitude before experiencing 20 years of well deserved football BLISS. You ask why don’t we have patience? Simply put, we don’t have another “bleepin” 40 years!!!

If none of them can contribute or find a way to stand out on our team this year, what gives you hope that theyll contribute with this staff and this system in the future? Speaking primarily of the free agents.
Thank you for changing the focus to free agents. There are two kinds, more than one year, and the annual group of players who fill in the roster for the year, and PERHAPS could be re-signed, but usually not.

THE TWO SIGNED TO MORE THAN ONE YEAR
GIBSON - I think that he is already a solid backup for Stevenson. He is a solid backup and receiver. Sure, everyone can be upgraded, but IMO opinion his signing removes RB as a need. I'm also fine with players such as Hasty, Harris as our #3.
TAKITAKI - Because of the injury, we just don't know. He seems OK for what he was signed for: a backup ILB and STer.

THE ANNUAL FILL-INS
We reasonably spent much less here than normal. Why waste much money on 2024 for players who will likely to be gone?

Brissette is doing his job.

Hawkins is a bit of question mark. He was hired to replace Mills as backup to Peppers and Dugger who had been given major extensions. Is he OK as an inexpensive #3 or #4 safety and as a special teamer? He's had to play much more than expected. We did NOT sign or pay for a starting free safety. We will likely do that next year. I'm OK with his play as the #4 safety.

I'm OK with Hooper as a #2 TE. Maybe as the offense grows, he will look better and be back, or not.

Osborne did his job, playing when all the kids didn't seem up to the task at hand, and while Bourne was out. I wasn't OK with playing a lot of Thornton and the 3 kids. Some veteran was needed. He or Bourne needs to stay.

Watts was a weak choice who was injured. We needed to make an additional or substitute better signing at DL. It was thin even before the Barmore injury.

As an aside, Uche should NOT have been re-signed. He should have been replaced, perhaps with another veteran who might be part of the future or not. Uche was just not part of the future.

I have no comment on Chucks.
==========
MY BOTTOM LINE
Chucks was a lousy signing. We needed to sign a tackle, even a backup #4 LT to backup Lowe.
I'm fine with the rest.
HOWEVER, we were thin at DL and LB BEFORE the injuries. We should have signed an addition serviceable LB and a DL in addition to Watts and Takitaki.

Wolf brought in the following:
Maye
Polk
Wallace
Robinson
Baker
Milton
Bell
Dial
Brissett
Gibson
Hooper
Hawkins
Takitaki
Osborne
Watts
Chuks

I’ve probably missed a few. But out of all those new players brought to the team, how many have had even a role player impact on this club. I’ll give you Brissett (starting qb, gave the rook time) and Maye. That’s it! Out of all those players. A whole list of ****ing scrubs. Wolf should be ashamed of himself. Absolutely ashamed. Not one impact free agent. An entire draft class beyond your first pick that cant do a damn thing.

This is a masterclass in how to demolish a football team happening right in front of our eyes. ****ing Packer way. **** that ****!
Brissett was needed, maybe not as much or for as long if the offensive line was stronger. Gibson, Hooper, Osborn, Slye were all good signings. Don't look now but Chad Ryland has hit 91% of his FG's and is perfect on extra points through five games so he might have done that here.

Hawkins is a good 4th safety depth guy... beyond that all of their draft picks and free agents outside of Maye have stunk. 2 out of the 3 offensive line free agents they signed this offseason, the biggest position of need outside of QB, are no longer on the team. The OL draftees were unplayable, but they play them anyway. Polk has been a disaster, like ha hasn't even shown flashes like Chad Jackson, Dobson, N'Keal or Thornton... like he has been terrible.

I don't get people obsession with time, draft picks, cap space and patience... if you suck at evaluating talent you'll never be good. So either Wolf improves or we're dead on arrival... even if Maye is a stud.

every team that marked improvement did it through free agency and the draft?

And what are the other options?

Perhaps a poll should be made
There's no need for a poll, there's no other way to improve beyond better coaching and execution. There's certainly no other way to get more talented.

Good Lord - that’s a bucket list that reads like a “who’s who in looserville”. Speaking of buckets, excuse me for a few minutes….

Yep; besides Maye, Bell, Brisket, Gibson & Hooper, the rest are straight trash, homies... And the ones I did mention outside of Maye aren't exactly lighting the world on fire either.

I think the only guaranteed roster spot goes to Maye. Bell hasn’t caught a cold, Brissett will be too expensive at $8M for what he brings, ditto Hooper, and Gibson do far has 1 good game, then disappears for 2. Though we could say tge sane fir our “star” running back….

This team has a lot of good players, but the coaching sucks and they have a massive deficiency along the offensive line.

This current roster with a a great offensive line, a healthy Barmore/Bentley and better coaching is battling Buffalo for the AFC East.

They didn't fix the line, or what I was screaming about all offseason and getting told I was wrong by the everything with the collaboration is great crowd.

They only had one phase of football to fix, and about 3-4 starting positions to fill with all the resources in the world. Wolf mucked it up...

You often comment on how you have been right about so much.

I decided to focus the discussion.

I strongly disagree with your statement above.

This team is so devoid of talent from 2-53 that we are much further away than you think. Depth is zero across the board.

We would still be lacking at WR, DE, CB & FS.

You told me Okorafor was a good signing. Forgive me for not taking you seriously.

Last season they were the #1 run defense in the NFL, ranked 5th in points allowed, 3rd fewest yards allowed per drive… 4th lowest scoring percentage in the NFL. In terms of player personnel, they’re the same exact defense.

They have some key injuries in Barmore and Bentley but the coaching is not nearly as good.

OK. That's fair.

I encourage folks to review your positions over the past year. If there are any that were clearly mistaken, then I guess your position is that we should ignore any of your analysis. OK, I suppose that I can accept your wishes.

I’m the guy that told you all the offensive line moves Wolf made this off-season besides bringing Onwenu back sucked. We’re all wrong now and again, but I couldn’t have been more right… and you argued against me the entire time. So there’s that…

I feel sorry for you. There were many, many great moments and seasons in the first 40 years. Is it sad to be that you feel so negative toward the team before Brady.

No need to feel sorry for me - like my username says, I have been a 64 year Patriots fan and I’m good with the Brady years. When you have the opportunity to experience Greatness (that in all likelihood will never occur again) I’ll take it and RUN!!
