GOOD NEWS: Thornton had a "great week of practice"

The mere fact that Tyquan is on the Trading block that should tell you. Even they know there's no hope for him.

They can trade Baker & Polk with him too.
I kinda agree with @Force Zero Boomer. Gotta have guys line up. You know, when they can line up correctly.

The simple fact is they don't have chit at the position after Pop. Looking at the 2025 WR free agent list, I can mark off guys I don't want. Anyone over 30, pass. I like Higgins but he can't stay on the field lately, so I don't want to stretch on that player when the rest of the NFL is going to be in on him. Godwin had the ankle dislocation, which is a shame. I was all in on him. ACL/MCL in 2021 and then the ankle, he likely won't be the same player now. Dionte Johnson, Darius Slaton, Marquis Brown? Seems like we have guys like that already.

It's not going to get better overnight. Better hope Baker and Polk can figure it out.

Seems like even if he can't catch anything he at least stretches the field a bit to give room underneath for others to work.
He went 2-3 last week and dropped a tough one with a defender hanging onto his legs. He also made a great move on the game winning drive to extend it on third down. He also stretches the defense as you said.

He should be playing. Getting a conditional 7th rounder for him is worthless if he goes elsewhere like the Chiefs and magically looks good.

As poorly as Thornton performed last week, it's still better than Polk or Baker combined this week. I'll take the threat of speed and iffy hands over the slow guys who can't catch at all. At least we could run the ball better without defenses flooding the box and not worrying about a downfield threat. Boutte is the only potential bright spot in the deep passing game. Might as well play Thornton if slow Polk and half-Baked (I'm really channeling my inner Captain Stone here lol) are gonna be completely useless.

You guys can't be freaking serious my blind Granny could have caught that pass from Maye on the ricochet. Kill this ridiculous Thread!

A decoy isn't really a decoy if no one thinks it's real. Teams can let him scream by their DB's knowing full well that Maye's not going to have enough time to throw it to him and if he does, he's probably going to drop it or get boxed out since he's a poor route runner.

I agree. So what is the coaching thought process that made him inactive Sunday? I don't get it, unless they're just trying to get everyone reps before the great culling.

This thread still on life support like Tyquan Thornton's game.

"<player X> has had a good week of practice" means some bust remembered to turn up on time.
