So basically he was fine and the Jets pulled some strings in NYC to get him pulled from the game and the Pats won anyways.

Rewatch the play. The defender hits Tyquan in the back just before the ball arrives. A bigger stronger guy catches the ball, but it is not that bad a drop. It is tough for many receivers to get hit before the ball arrives and still make the catch.

Now wait just a minute. Are we not all aware that T.T. spent the past TWO off-seasons BULKING UP! From the stories read, it was a coin flip if he was going to play WR, TE, or be our Left Offensive Tackle!! I can’t see *any* hit causing this strong man to drop that perfectly thrown pass….

I watched this a few times, he should have caught it, the bump was minor, he let the ball get to his body instead of using his hand. I thought it was a pretty bad drop.

A contributing factor, though, was TT waiting for the ball to come into his body for a belly catch instead of reaching out to snag it with his hands.

He was bumped when the ball was around 3yds away (2 at the verrry least). He's not inspector gadget. The ball was in line to hit his hands but the bump pushed him further to the sideline, so that's why it hit him in the chest. A star player probably would've gotten a PI call.

It was a nice throw by Maye, but TT11 had to slow down to catch the ball (story of his Patriot life), so that's how Greenie was able to bump him. The throw could've been better.

Then you need glasses. The defender arrives early and TT's body moves. Very obvious. TT will never be a big guy, there are lots of small WRs - no need to list them since more than half the WRs are small.

A minor bump only has to move the WR a few inches at the last second and the ball will be missed. That is why the rule is that the defender can not touch the WR, because what does "minor" mean and catching a ball is matter of inches.

You seem like a smart guy, you obviously know this. What is your real point?

How is that related to the ongoing discussion about TT catching the ball or not? I do not understand what you are looking for. TT has had little impact on the overall Pat's offense, so I am missing your connection.

Points per game can be tilted because the defense and special teams can score points, raising the average without the offense doing well. Either way, the Pats offense really stinks. Points per game can be tilted because the defense and special teams can score points, raising the average without the offense doing well. Either way, the Pats offense really stinks. I think those numbers will go up now that Maye is QB. Brissett is awful. Maye is a good QB from what I see so far.

I agree. Maye is exciting. Let's hope the Pats can do it without Maye running too much. Josh Allen has survived a lot of running, but that is the exception not the rule IMO.

6’2” is not small for a receiver. He certainly can use some extra pounds/muscle but he’s been yapping about doing just that for the past two off-seasons. Evidently, he’s had as much luck in the weight room as he’s had catching footballs. If he continues with his current trend, he’ll finish his third year with a whopping 8 receptions. I don’t need glasses to know that a couple of guys named Welker and Edelman used to average that in a game (not a season)….
