Who's the scatback?

Columbia University Hall of Fame member Robert Kraft who was inducted for his stellar career as a “scatback” on their club level football team (not their varsity or junior varsity teams) and certainly not to stroke his ego as a reward for the millions of dollars he used to give them.

I will be referring to him as The Scatback because I think it perfectly encapsulates his mentality, desperately trying to convince people that he knows football from “the inside, having played the game himself” while at the same time lusting for the gold jacket and bust in Canton. He had a great legacy here as long as he kept his yap shut but that’s always been his Achilles Heel and why he made so many enemies over the years.

I would imagine that when they heard him call BB th biggest ahole he dealt with, guys like David Mugar, Joe O’Donnell, Charlie Sarkis, Steve Karp, Wil McDonough, Tom Menino, Tom Finneran, and Jerry Jones must have been disappointed to not have him think of them for that honorific. Weird how many of those guys have shuffled off this mortal coil.

I am not a believer that you'll get top flight FAs by overspending. I think you'll overspend for someone else's trash. Bill arrogance in his own ability to coach up Thuney's replacement is why they are in the mess they are in.

Seems like since I started the "Any chance Mayo is one and done?" thread things have continued to go off the rails. The locker room seems to have some real issues. We now have a second defensive lineman, in Daniel Ekuale, calling out his teammates claiming they need to check their egos which still reads to me as Uche and White. We also have Kendrick Bourne calling out teammates, which based on his comments about guys who would rather stay up all night and eat whatever, seems to be aimed at Demario Douglas who had some sort of stomach issue from something he ate.

At this point Bourne may be the only receiver who isn't disgruntled. I thought Polk was supposed to be a high character guy but he has been a moody pain in the ass since camp. His comments about don't root for me later if you aren't now or whatever the hell he said came off as immature for a guy who never played a game at the time. Now when Mayo calls him out and says he needs to clear some mental hurdles he basically says Mayo is wrong and he has the best hands in the league (then goes out to drop his first two passes). We have already seen and heard about Demario Douglas's early season displeasure and now he may be making poor decisions on top of it. Then there is Osborne, who as far as I am concerned should be cut or traded by tomorrow. Basically gave his public stamp of approval to a guy claiming he is being mistreated here. Osborne is a bottom of the roster guy who isn't worth anything close to the headache that comes with this nonsense.

So far the only silver lining to this season is that Drake Maye is showing promise in his first two starts and seems to be a leader as well. He has said all the right things the last two weeks and is a genuinely likable guy. Mayo really needs to send a message and make Polk a healthy scratch and cut or trade Osborne. The talk is meaningless if it isn't backed up by action.

Freedom of speech doesn't mean you can pile on your org or wash dirty linen in public. People get fired for ridiculing place of work or boss. Freedom of speech is not that. If you are getting mistreated due to any other reason or there is some physical alteration you can pour over social media, not these.

I agree if a so called professional Football Team can run 25 times on another without any variation. The last time I remember a Patriots Run Defense this bad they had Toby Williams @ NT.
